And so it begins!

On paper, that's probably the best SH poster for me that I've seen yet.

Batu
Hessle
Call Super
Craig Richards
Daniel Avery
Daphni (is that his first ever Glastonbury set...?)
DMX Krew (YES!)
Helena Hauff
Max Cooper
Paranoid London
Sedęf Adasï

And that's on a quick look.

If that's how we're starting the dance line-ups, this could be a Glastonbury for the ages for our little thread.

Completely agree, a very very strong start. Absolutely buzzing now, cannot see what the future announcements hold. Certainly one of the most exciting threads on here, for me at least!

I agree the best I’ve seen for years.

they seem to be trying to branch out with other genres (the deep anjuna stuff we’ve mentioned before is finally making an appearance)

and I can’t wait to see the new venues.

Well done Silver Hayes.

I know they did it last year, but does anyone reckon/know if SASS (moxie, peach, saoirse, shanti Celeste) will play together at all? They’re all about doing their own things

They did the bus in block 9 last year, they might get it again but probably not? Also lets hope the bus is replaced by something a lot better this year as it was a massive step down from the old Genosys

That's one of the most exciting/important reveals of this year for me. We have to wonder if Genosys is truly gone, given the reports of it perishing somewhat in storage, but PLEASE find a replacement (bus replacement service, ha!) for that bus. Too quiet and just lacking in any creative punch. Next to the Downlow and IICON it looked and sounded pretty Poundland.

Had a little chortle at that.

I'm assuming since it was pretty late in the day when they realised the state of Genosys, they made do with whatever they had lying around or was readily available.  if we were a little disappointed by it, I can only imagine how annoyed the creative team were at what they gave us.

Hopefully they've been cooking up something special over the last year!

Couldnt agree more! I have total faith in the block 9 crew to reinvent if the OG Genosys cannot be brought back.

They should hopefully have some budget and scope to do that this year as i cant see IICON or the downlow changing in any significant / noticeable way so it would make sense to refocus on getting the “new” Genosys back & on form!

Subfocus, dimension, hedex. If they have late night sets could really spread the crowd from south east

Sub Focus and Dimension have some serious pull

Not sure Hedex does with the glasto crowd tbh, would be absolutely rammed a stage that size anywhere else.

Defo some serious pull though across all acts not just the dnb

Epic line up this year, can't wait! Also relieves some of the stress of having to hang out in the South East corner which I find so busy and stressful (prefer it when it's empty in the day!)

Don't shoot me for this question, but has anyone heard any UK Garage at Glasto? I've been 5 times and it's not something I've come across, but my husband and I love a bit of old school garage & dnb 😉

I can't remember there being a great amount of it, certainly not over the past few years. EZ played on Arcadia last year. Of course Kurupt FM (on before EZ) would have dropped the odd old school UKG track. Todd Edwards was on the Downlow last year, doesn't get much bigger than that.

You'll be well covered, but you'll probably want to wait for the entire lineup to come out, then go onto the festival website and see the full alphabetical list of artists.

You'll struggle to get any DnB at Glastonbury though...😆

Pretty sure Roni Size is going to be headlining arcadia one night so there is your dnb covered

You might get some Garage from Pearson Sound in the Hessle takeover in SH. And I think that's daytime.

    • A question has crossed my (questionable) mind;   Has the size of the Green Fields remained the same as other areas have expanded / been added on to, since say, 2014 (the last time that I attended)? Are they 'lost' within, or well attended?    That's actually two questions. The second one just slipped in at the end by taking advantage of my lack of means to stop it.
    • I'd say the same about Kylie.    Annie would be awesome, Duran not so much, and on the issue of them wanting a beanie slot, that probably rules out a fair few others who I think would fit the bill very well... and are legitimately more entitled to a headline, and/or too expensive.   Was just about to suggest Chaka Khan, but see @Gnomicide has beat me to it!    What about someone like Bryan Ferry?
    • It's certainly gone more that way, but then they went completely in the opposite direction and had Cat Stevens.
    • Chaka can, or Chaka can't?
    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
