it's certainly possible, tho that's probably not how it is.

Stone roses ehhhh! ;)

(I know...)

Edit: but surely if this long awaited new album did surface, and if it came with gigs, that would throw them back into the frame?

I've been ready these boards for a few weeks but just created an account to post because I think there could be something in this. I'm pretty sure that a few weeks back (after their IoW announcement) the Blur website had a statement saying that IoW and Hyde Park were the band's only UK festival shows? Or something along those lines. Did anyone else see this? If it was there that I saw it then it has now gone... Sorry if I'm mistaken but thought it was worth a mention!

With how late the last headliner is going to be announced 'exclusives' don't mean anything anymore

It still says it in the article announcing it on their site here

Who knows though!

because BST isn't their only show?

I don't know that it's Blur, but if it is then Blur's IoW show could be what stops them being announced.

Why though Neil, they're not an exclusive to IOW and the festival has shared headliners over the years with no problems in regards to announcements, I.E Neil Young 2009.

I still find the idea of Blur very unlikely. The 2009 performance felt like a goodbye - and it was a great performance.

I think Albarn likes the idea of a 'legacy' - and another Gbury headline slot would probably tarnish that.

Are The Who not being mentioned because they are appearing but not headlining? Not big enough to headline?

i'd agree if there wasnt a new albm and they are able to do a very different set, i do agree that it doesnt quite feel right..but i'd still love them to play...and as the 2 headliners havent headlined before it could be worse in terms of originality..

The Who aren't being mentioned as they're playing in France on the Sunday.

We need a secondary thingy, pinned to the top of the forum, listing bands like AC/DC who plain just can't do it.

Mumfords just plain couldn't do it ... But in a different meaning of the way!!

Because she's utter bollocks mate....enough of the obsession, why do you reckon you are literally the only one here sticking up for her?

He's not. There are a number of us who'd be very pleased if Taylor was announced.
