I honestly think the June thing is about the full lineup and the site change is because they're probably getting email after email of 'SPRING STARTED AGES AGO' and are fed up.

You still wouldn't change the site if it was going to be announced tonight, or tomorrow, or this week, or soon at all, really.

So it still means the announcement is further off than we thought, and later than 'usual', whatever that is.

Also quick note on prince, went and watched him in birmingham last year and he was incredible, best live act ive seen (which is an ever growing list including fleetwood Mac), would absolutely kill it on the pyramid (in a good way)

Your email from Seetickets said your first name is Mark, the second part of your username is bezza, you are Bez from the Happy Mondays and I claim my £5!

Nice one for sharing the email you got. as expected, it would be bizarre not to get anything in the next few weeks.

I've no doubt that he would smash it. He does very, very little for me personally but I can see him going down very well.

I have gone through my 26 years on this planet only hearing 3 or 4 of his songs and know more of his reputation, ego and eccentricity than his actual musical output. providing there was no clash I would no doubt be there waiting to be converted.

They'd still need to play 3 nights in a row, which seems not be their standard modus operandi.

Hence the delay until June, Emily is trying to source some top quality white stuff. Though they might have to make do with some worthy farm milk instead.

yep.

they don't even do 3 nights in a row in the same city.

pretty much no chance they're doing 3 nights in a row with travel, with the last one being televised to millions, after all that has gone on with Mick's denials and IoW's exclusivity too.

That's the amazing thing about gf the diversity, last year I wasn't to happy with metallica but thought I'd give them a go, I watched the intro and thought it was brilliant 2 songs later I found myself watching some guy swallowing swords (not a euphemism) in a small tent! Most amazing place in the world!

Jeez, the plot thickenss

IF the June headliner thing is true for me that leaves Fleetwood Mac (announce after they've played their 'exclusive date'), Prince just being a pedantic arse as per or someone who has something else big to announce alongside the Glastonbury announcement.. like The Stone Roses and their third album (clutching at the last straw for them)

I really don't believe that they'll be holding it back until June. Even if they have Prince playing and he's being awkward about "using his name to sell tickets" why would he need the lineup to be announced so late if all of the tickets will be sold out in ten days time? Doesn't make a lot of sense.

As someone said, this is doing a lot more harm to their reputation among Glastonbury attendees than Kanye.

More likely in my opinion that Michael Eavis was telling fibs or this guy on Facebook is just winding everyone up.

Why don't Glastonbury just put a tweet up saying that they have no scheduled announcements at present but expect a few more names to be announced during April/May? Surely be quicker than replying to everyone's emails!!

    • I don't think a whole raft of attendees who've been going every year since the mid 90s and mid 10s collectively all thinking the festival is no longer for us suggests we've all aged out of it at the same time. Something fundamental has changed and its pretty obvious what that is. The fact that theyve managed to skinny down the line up so much AND STILL get punters in is a real credit to the bookers, filling it with enough of the current thing to get the kids excited for a weekend while pulling in enough big names to make it worth a day out for the casual Florence fan etc... is impresive. Re Leeds: Annecdotally, from videos, numbers have looked tiny vs Reading, esp on the camping end of things, it would be good to know the official numbers and how much they're down from the peak sell out years

    • I mean she's never going to admit it, but of course she would do a deal...same as Labour would with lib-dems/greens if meant getting into government.
    • They probably do make more from the festival. But take a look at an aerial photo from any year - there's always a few fields that would be viable for festival related use yet are left empty. I guess they just don't want to deal with the associated hassle.
