One of my all-time Glastonbury highlights, loved it!

Favourite act of the weekend along with Massive Attack. Absolutely nailed it; crowd were loving it down the front. One guy I was with had previously seen them at Download, Leeds and their own gig and said Glastonbury was the best crowd he'd seen them in.

I don't think I saw a single set all weekend, on any stage, that didn't start 10 minutes late.

I'm not a Metallica fan, but one of our group was and so ended up watching them after the Pixies had finished. Have to say I was really impressed with Metallica.

We came into the Pyramid field at the back and the crowd was massive and having a great time. I also really enjoyed Enter the Sandman. Anyway fair play, Metallica rocked

yeah i don't think they played the best setlist they could've at all. i thought they'd just stick with the basic 'by request' (aka a 'greatest hits' of sorts) set but why they played stuff like Cyanide over Battery / Welcome Home etc i'll never know. and i guess even that two hour slot wasn't really long enough for them (did they actually do two hours? i know they came on late so did they also finish early?)

also, although i would've rather they played something else, Whiskey In The Jar was pretty fun and had the crowd going (although my friend's uncle who was camped with us wouldn't shut up about how Metallica apparently 'couldn't hold a riff together', especially the main riff of that song)

My friend is a member of the Metallica fan club and he got picked for the meet and greet. The people who got picked for that got to bring their friends and go on stage.

I didn't realise we were going to be on the stage until they led us out, I walked around the curtain at the back and saw the crowd. That was awesome.

Man, that's so cool! Once in a lifetime opportunity, bet your friend that was in the fan club was over the moon with that experience.

I fucking loved it. Ended up right at the barrier and got one of the black balloons (absolute nightmare to deflate) Crowd were fantastic from where I was.

What happened to them playing for two hours? I just read it was only 90 minutes long. Didn't even notice.

they definitely came on late so i assume they had to cut their set short due to the curfew which is a mighty shame and may explain some of the omissions in the setlist. didn't notice myself either as i was wasted

Does Hetfield do the same stage banter at every show? I heard Enter Sandman back earlier and it was exactly the same as Reading 6 years ago; "You still out there!?" etc...

Sounded excellent mind you
