It's probably very different live - but it just feels very disconnected. Very slow and strange alternation in the setlist between slow and fast songs.

I'd probably be checking my watch often if I was there.

Its because the new stuff is so bland and boring. Obviously they were going to play a lot of it because they're promoting the album and stuff, but it doesn't appear to go down well with the crowd at all.

Complete contrast to the older stuff like I Will Wait which seemingly went down really well.

First Kanye, now Mumfords, maybe ahead of next year the "give us a rock band" brigade will learn that protesting about an act being "unsuitable" ends up looking foolish when said act go out and smash it in front of a great crowd.

I mean, the first one's definitely up for debate and the second one... aren't you at Leeds right now?

edit: oh just realised you'd commented on their performance on last page. Thought you were just going off of what VCK said. :P

Overall the coverage has been shocking. I know people find the BBC presenters annoying and all that, but it doesn't feel the same without them, and doesn't feel like much of an event.

As I said, Festival Republic should just fuck the BBC off altogether and stream the festival on their own site or Youtube channel. It's what the American festivals do.

Ah sorry to hear that. Was it as empty as people were saying it would be?

Thanks. It felt pretty sparse walking around on Wednesday, didn't really see much beyond that cos staff are kept well away from the punter campsites but if they've closed two campsites, got rid of the silent disco and made all the music tents about as small as David Cameron's heart, it doesn't exactly have the air of expecting vast crowds

Also my mate's ig showed about a living room's worth of dancing room down the front at Jamie T but that may just be Jamie T, naturally.

I actually went past it on the bus today, felt pretty surreal seeing the Main Stage and the arena and the crowd behind all those trees. It looked quite busy though, but going to Leeds isn't the "in thing" any more like it was circa 2007 - 2010.
