There are some people posting on here that need to get a fucking life. If Mardy had his way we would all be living in 1964.

Setting aside an irritation with novelty heritage acts, for which I greatly sympathize, why call him racist and sexist? I know he stuck up for the odious Anton Beck and his Paki comments, but aside from that, I see no evidence for it. His wife is Puerto Rican after all. I don't usually bother to comment on such things but your posts are usually pretty measured and reasonable so Im geniunely intrigued.

He thinks calling someone 'a paki' for a laugh is OK, and he defended Richard Keys and Andy Grey's appalling comments about women. He was one of the judges of that bastion of emancipation and equality, Miss World.

Take it you'll turn away in disgust away in disgust when Public Enemy rap about bangin ho's then

Depends on you definition of culture. Many, many people would say he's contributed a lot to British culture over the years. That said, he's of no interest to me. Can't see him playing late on the bill though, more likely an afternoon slot similar to The Wombles or The Wurzles.

Quite aside from all this bizarre controvery... and assuming I haven't taken a massive dose of acid that I've forgotten about.. what would a set by Brucie actually consist of? Humour? Song? Dance? All of this?

It's simple if you don't wanna see him then don't that's the beauty of Glastonbury plenty for everyone, you can get lost in the festival just bimbling around. Sure he will have an audience (not me though) I recon he will be a laugh if u do see him he's been an entertainer for years and I'm sure whoever booked him knows what they're doing (I hope) and I agree got to be an afternoon slot.
