The summary from this date in 2010:

In summary, a bit of a mixed bag, until the ECM 12Hz I was quite content, that although some runs were going for NE winds, this would probably be not that bad for Glastonbury in SW England, however the ECM does put a bit of a dampener on things. However I will keep my rating at 45% chance of a wet festival.

Won't even look at weather forecasts till the end of the week. I reckon anything more than four days ahead will be a lot of guesswork.

Anyway nothing I can do about it except go prepared for all weathers.

I think 2011 just seemed bad due to it being after 2010s gloriousness! 2011 had a lot to live up to and it failed to do so because of the Friday rain. Also the mud on the Saturday had started to dry and it was tough to walk through, my legs suffered greatly!

I'm going to keep being hopeful but won't take anything as truth until the end of next week. That's when it starts getting serious!

16-day forecast for the area.

http://www.theweatheroutlook.com/forecast/uk/glastonbury

if we'll indeed be in a westerly airflow that will at least mean fronts of rain, not long-running [e.g. 24 hours, as has happened] chunks of the stuff. so looks like sunshine and showers and maybe the odd front moving through; and cool, but warm in the sun.

    • 90,000 on a single for day or over the weekend?   if it was for the whole weekend that’s disastrous   Given camping didn’t sell out unless they in effect transferred a lot of camping captivity to Chappell Roan day tickets 90,000 is absolute capacity there I think, so it would be hard to believe   i think it’s from the year before but the TPD tv footage when the killers are headlining makes it look like it’s at best half full
    • A part of me thinks weirdly they might hold off on Chaka/Robbie until they have a year where nobody else who fits the bill is available. This slot takes a very specific set of criteria, and I can't imagine they're flushed with options who are on tour and would take the smaller payday every year. Both Chaka and Robbie have expressed interest in doing it, so they're bankers for a year where fewer options are available. Which may well be 2027.
    • Chaka and Robbie got to have decent chances due to previous reports
    • Chaka is a west holts act all day long and yes please (as part of my vaguely purple day that I am still trying to make happen).   Teatime? Bryan Adams.
