2026 New Music

I'm enjoying the new Stones album, like @The Nal say, it could maybe lose a track or two but the standard is pretty high. Keith's vocal track is always a highlight on any of their albums and Some Of Us keeps up the tradition.

I went back and played Hackney Diamonds again after listening to this, that's pretty solid too.

This came out in January for a TV show I haven't watched but genuinely might be one of my favourite songs of the year. I know its a cover but there's an atmosphere to it I really like. Plus makes me hopeful the new Chvrches album, whenever its coming, is great.

Not new for 2026 but I've been listening to a lot of The Beaches. Plus this Muse fanboy likes the new album. So there's that.

Anyone tried the new strokes album yet?

Yeah.

Hard to judge off first listen. I like parts - feels like it's lacking a few bangers like the last one did.

I've got a long haul flight on Sunday night, will hammer it during that.

Tbh though - I'd listen to them fart into a bottle, so I'm probably not the best judge.

Cheers i am a fan of the Stokes but to say i enjoyed the singles they have put out from it so far - would be a complete lie as I thought they were absolutely shite.

So im wondering if to protect the memory of a band i love - maybe i skip the rest of the album -

Seems to be very marmite reaction so far

I've gotta say, after hammering The Strokes album - I really like it.

The only thing it's missing, if I'm being picky, is a a stomping banger.

It's very clever. Psycho sh*t will make a good set opener

    • My Orange car park ticket turned up today. The envelope looked like some kind of junk mail offering me a loan so I nearly didn't open it!
    • There is a bunch of TBC acts on Deftones day, according to APE insta. The obvious guesses are Fiddlehead, Nothing, Dynamite and Make Way, "Outbreak" artists playing the night before. The question is more about how are they are gonna fit in on three big stages.    is
    • SURELY Reel Big Fish will be here?
    • Sam Fender, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter is a very bland set of headliners. Commercially successful and makes plenty of sense, but it wouldn't be very inspirising. That said I want a band like Green Day to headline so who am I to say what exciting is.
    • Potentially rogue shout here but could see Rebecca Black in the running for a mid-afternoon spot. I know most people still remember her for Friday but lately she’s been putting out a lot of fun pop bangers, think this could be a very fun booking!
