    2024 New Music

New Frank Carter album is sounding solid after the first listen through!
  2. Yeah, I saw The Darkness in Glasgow on Monday night and I've seen them a few times now, and it was hands down the best time I've seen them. Such a strong live band.
  3. Yeah, just noticed their post on Instagram. I'd be keen to go if Dave was touring again, but with them not confirming, I'm very on the fence.
  4. They sold out 2 of the 8 arena shows (Leeds and Cardiff) - I was at the Glasgow show, and it was pretty packed, so that would've been close to a sell out.
  5. It'll be for another special edition Simon Neil guitar pedal - he's done a couple. Nothing very exciting!
  6. I've had a couple gigs in the £110-area bought for me as Christmas/Birthday gifts, but personally the most I've spent is £90-odd on Muse last year in London.
  7. Got through in the queue just to have a look at the costs for Madonna on AXS right now:
  8. I think this is for Chris' solo work? He's releasing an album next month.
  9. Never seen GnR Arctic Monkeys once at TRNSMT in 2018 - I thought they were fine, but I think I would've enjoyed it a lot more if I hadn't been suffering with heat exhaustion from earlier on in the day. Elton John in Inverness back in 2007, it was my first gig & only went because Elton gave the hotel where my dad worked a bunch of free tickets. From what I remember, I loved it! I was only 11, so I was surprised when I ended up recognising every song he played.
  10. I was actually going to go and say that in The Cure thread about the merch - that's the first time in a long time where I've been to an arena show and the merch has been that reasonably priced, along with the ticket cost. Very impressed by it all.
  11. I've been quite lucky with what I've managed to see this year!: February - Wolf Alice in Glasgow - Always going to be biased with this because Blue Weekend is still on heavy rotation for me 18 months after it came out! Really brilliant. March - Biffy Clyro acoustic set in Glasgow - Really nice wee intimate gig, only downside was how short it was. May - Muse in Glasgow - One of the best times I've seen them. Incredible setlist. May - Lorde in Edinburgh - I was really apprehensive about this show because Solar Power hadn't really hit with me, but then witnessing the tracks live, it gave me a huge new appreciation for it! (And Ribs will forever go OFF live) June - Queen + Adam Lambert in Glasgow - My partner was so not up for this, until about 1 and a half songs in and he was hooked. I had a ball the whole night - some beautiful, touching moments during the set too. June - Phoebe Bridgers in Glasgow - Surprisingly one of the most stiflingly hot gigs I've ever been at, but it was totally worth it. I've been wanting to see Phoebe live for years, so managing to finally see her was a dream! July - Pearl Jam in London - We had tickets for the original shows a few years back, but they were totally worth the wait! It was my partner and I's first time ever seeing them, and they're his favourite band too, and the setlist we got was pretty much perfect. September - Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in London - A bittersweet show; we had tickets for the Foos' Manchester gig in June, and it was one of the most emotional 6 hours of my entire life. I don't think I stopped crying for more than 10 minutes the whole time. What an unreal amount of legends on that stage! I've still not really gotten over the enormity of that gig. November - Biffy Clyro in Glasgow - A great set, could've been made better with a bit more from the last couple albums and a bit less of tracks like Rearrange and Many of Horror (I know, very pie in the sky, but I can dream!) Upcoming: The Cure next weekend, and then a not too shabby looking 2023 (The Darkness, Self-Esteem, Paramore, Muse, Blink-182)
  12. Those supports are brilliant; put them all on a stage on one day somewhere and that's an almost perfect day of sad-girl bangers.
  13. Yeah, I've seen early entry before at a few shows - they usually get in half an hour/an hour earlier than everyone else.
  14. 100% agree. Humbug will always be my favourite AM album, I even adored Suck It & See, but they've kind of lost me since then. I loved the last Puppets album, and thought TBHAC sounded like offcuts of stuff Miles and Alex didn't use for it, it just didn't hit right at all with me.
  15. I managed to get standing in Glasgow for £70 per ticket, but £12 service charge per ticket is taking the piss. I hate using Ticketmaster, but our group are all huge Blink fans, so don't want to miss out. Begrudgingly paid it. 😪
  16. The line-up just keeps getting better. Going to be one emotional day!
  17. I'm going to guess 5-8 arena dates for Late March/ Early April. Similar to the the 2016 arena tour. They neglected arenas on their last tour (bar the 2 O2 gigs and 1 Birmingham show right at the very end)
  18. Sorry if I sound completely stupid, but I'm assuming it's OK to take a travel sized bottle of sunscreen into Pearl Jam tomorrow? I can't find anything on their prohibited items to state that it would be taken off me, but I've seen people get toiletries taken off them in other venues in the past.
  19. I'm also going to Pearl Jam on Saturday as general admission, and we're not arriving until around 4pm due to flights etc. so I'm a little anxious about it also!
  20. Doors open at 3pm, so I'm assuming it'll be much like Freddie Mercury's tribute concert where there was a different performer/musician out for songs. I know they're playing songs that Taylor loved as well, so I'm expecting some Queen, Rush & The Police.
  21. I've just been speaking to someone at Scotrail and nothing is running up north in Scotland on the strike days, and they're estimating hours long delays on non-strike days next week. I'm away to Phoebe Bridgers in Glasgow and had to panic buy bus tickets and wait for my train tickets to get cancelled and refunded. Just a heads up as Scotrail weren't even sure if they were going to be affected or not until days ago.
  22. I'd assume around £80. Last saw them at the O2 in 2019, it was £82.50 or something. But it is for charity, so I could see them bumping that up a little.
  23. Does anybody know if there's a pre-sale for the Barrowlands show for Phoebe Bridgers? Seems to be O2 priority for the three academies and a "presale" as its titled on Ticketmaster for Dublin, but nothing for Glasgow. I've searched on gigsinscotland, gigsandtours, see tickets & ticketmaster and I'm stumped.
  24. Was just coming in to post that. Absolutely gutted. Think I've had these tickets nearly two years?! Cancelling flights and hotels yet again. 😪
