I'd imagine Oasis would be first choice to headline Saturday night. They'd be the most expensive act to pay (minus some legendary band like Floyd reuniting which isn't going to happen) so you'd want them out front and centre on the night that most people follow outside the festival.

As long as don't fall out then they will do Glastonbury again but might not be 2027 tbf considering they seem like they will have a few years of being able to sell out in seconds on their own before needing to sell a festival for someone else (not that Glasto needs anyone to sell it mind).

I see it as 2027 or not at all for Oasis, personally.

General consensus seems to be that 2026 is a goer, but how long can it keep going with no new music? They won't want to drag it out forever.

All of a sudden if they do a handful of festivals in 2027 then do Glastonbury in 2028, for example, the whole thing doesn't feel very special.

Maybes. I think they might make some new music though. If they are getting on then may as well, it would sell incredibly well and keep the gravy train rolling a few more years.

Whether it is good or not might be the factor that determines how long they go for though.

I'd bet significant wedge that that will never happen.

I'm not a fan but - tbh they can drag it out as long as they want to.

In much the same way that the Stones still fill stadiums - and while the Stones have occasionally released new stuff in the past 30 years, not one person going to any of those shows is doing so hoping to hear them play Streets of Love.

Tbf a few of those albums have been very popular. The last two were especially good. Number one on both sides of the Atlantic so it certainly helps.

But you can certainly run it out for years if you want to. Just means making your touring schedules cover different areas between breaks.

Or like when Macca played the Pyramid and a significant few were fuming that he actually did play some new songs.

It's not that they can't, I just don't think they'd wanna go down that road - certainly not Noel anyway.

Time will tell.

It feels like Radiohead, Oasis & Foos could all do it next year or the year after but I’d be shocked to see two of those in the same year. I’d expect up and coming artists to get the bump next will be Capaldi & Fender. Then there’s Gaga, Chappell & Sabrina who’ve all got to be consideration for the next few years. Maybe even Florence, is she still big enough?

Radiohead is too soon - nothing even released since they last played.

Gaga is always a name but its on her terms - i'm sure they have tried before.

Florence is been and gone unless they are in a bind and really want a female fronted act I think

It will have been ten years since they last played. That's plenty of time

Yes they haven't released new music, but I don't think it really matters. Glastonbury aren't turning down the chance to get Radiohead if they can because it's been 11 years since their last album, especially with the number of old/legendary/credible (delete as appropriate) bands dwindling. Coldplay played 2016 and 2024, and yes they'd released music but it was largely utter sh*t, I don't think it's that big a factor. Radiohead could easily change 10/11 of the songs from their 2017 set and it wouldn't weaken it at all

I disagree

No music, no point.

Radiohead are unlikely to be interested too as a result - this is a short run of shows to get paydays at the moment. I'm expecting music anyway but until then no chance. Boring pick without new music.

Moby showing up on quite a few festival line ups. Wonder if he could be tempted back to Glastonbury was a headliner last time - but seems to be taking non headliner slots at other festivals so I think they could put him in somewhere.

He is sticking out well at Mad Cool for me. Will be interesting to see if Werchter get him as I've not rule it out yet. Clinging on to The Cure though currently. If only Nova Rock got LP this year instead that would be everything needed in one hahs

Always fun to do one of these ! Saw the thread bumped and was hoping someone had posted one.

Must say headliners not doing much for me. Barry Can't Swim as the Friday dance choice is dull at best, think WH is probably a push as well he's dropped off loads. Would be fairly well attended given what else is on I reckon.

No way sombr is that low come 2027!

Also F+TM is not a good choice against Oasis. Few will do well, but a dance act seems more logical e.g. Bicep.

That Sunday run would be an all timer.

Some great shouts on here. Not sure Stereophonics would accept a sub slot though. That top 3 Pyramid Saturday is a great run for me. Have a feeling Lily may sub next time she plays with how big her shows are. YYY vs Foos is a horrible one for me though. Hope YYY and Placebo are both on the lineup tho. That Sunday would be a great run too!

Great lineuo but way too strong. Some of the 3rds would probably sub and so forth.

Stereophonics were big ticket shifters every time they subbed T, and were supposed to sub TRNSMT before the orange walk f**ked it, and they ended up topping one of the five days that happened as a result.

They were probably bigger than Mumfords one of the years they took that spot.

I don't think they'd see themselves as above it.

All of these festivals you've listed will pay them well regardless.

The glasto sub spot is pretty poorly paid - there's a reason they have steered clear for this long. I'm pretty sure they have said they are waiting for a headliner offer before which is never coming of course!
