Wondering who could be in the pool for Other Stage headliners this year - think we could see a mix of BMTH, Chems, The XX, Lorde, Bicep, Florence & The Machine, My Chemical Romance (tour depending), Fontaines D.C. (this or Pyramid headliner in 2028). Anyone else in contention? Vampire Weekend if they’re back?

Was also wondering if MBV could (emphasis on could) be about especially with their shows at the end of the year. Park or Woodsies headliner would be terrific!

Could see Chase & Status been a while since they played.  Little Simz pops up regularly so Could see her Headlining the Other stage aswell even if it's not long since sub-headline.

Ghost for an outside shout.

Personally think VW have dropped a level not sure they be a Other or Sub anymore

Didn’t even think about Chase & Status, definitely would make sense for a dance headliner. Simz I did also think about, could very well see her in the conversation if her arena shows do well. I wonder if there are any other potential rappers who could do headline the Other?

I definitely think VW probably won’t be a Pyramid sub anymore but think they could still pull a decent crowd as Other headliner. Think either there or 3rd down Pyramid next time they’re about.

Might be harsh but Stormzy? Might me to obvious a step down but he hasn't pushed on IMO.  Probably more likely to be a secret set on Pyramid though I guess.

JHus maybe?

Yeah definitely seems Stormzy’s peak was probably when he headlined. Reckon if he came back he would defo be either Pyramid sub, massive Other headliner or secret said like you say.

I’ve seen J Hus predicted for the last few years but he rarely performs live (IIRC his performance at Wireless last year was his first in a few years) and it seems like despite his albums getting a lot of acclaim it hasn’t caught on much. Maybe if he releases another successful album. Wonder if an American rapper could do it? Cardi B? Doja Cat? Megan returning (could be Pyramid sub too)? Maybe even  a more established rapper like 50 Cent or Ice Cube or even Snoop Dogg/Dr. Dre?

Seems Stormzy’s ship has sailed. IMO he was kinda lucky to get that Pyramid headline spot. Also IMO his Other Stage (sub?) was the much better set. Tried to do too much and be too clever on the Pyramid, I definitely preferred the more stripped down Other Stage performance

I think Vampire Weekend could definitely do it. What about Tame Impala - due a return esp after appearing with Dua Lipa last year.

Weird shout but I wonder if Twenty One Pilots could show up somewhere especially with two albums in two years? Never have imagined them playing the festival (weird they didn’t play in 2016/17 or 2019) as I feel like they should be Other headliner level on paper with their popularity and frequent arena tours but not sure if they’d get that spot at the G. Other sub maybe?

How about Swedish House Mafia for an Other Stage Headliner?

Never really thought of them at the festival, can't remember if someone said this in a different thread but they may be prioritising the paychecks and if so then probably not. Would be a cracking set though.

Sabrina Carpenter. I don't rate her at all but she's got a following. An expanded Other seems perfect for her.

Both Sabrina and Chappell will be Pyramid headline or nothing going forwards. If they were gonna get them in a non Pyramid headline slot it would have been this year or last year. Too big for that now.

Friday
Pyramid - Sam Fender, Paramore, Richard Ashcroft, Becky Hill, Emeli Sande
Other - Duran Duran, Deftones
West Holts - Nia Archives
Woodsies - Young Fathers
Park - Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Saturday
Pyramid - Chappell Roan, Paolo Nutini, Judas Priest, Bastille, Tom Grennan, Natasha Bedingfield
Other - The xx, Elbow
West Holts - Run the Jewels
Woodsies - Confidence Man
Park - Alabama Shakes

Sunday
Pyramid - Oasis, Florence and the Machine, Benson Boone, Annie Lennox, Ellie Goulding
Other - Bicep, Jamie T
West Holts - The Pointer Sisters
Woodsies - The Wombats
Park - Belle & Sebastian

This one looks pretty realistic, if Oasis are still touring in '27. Can't see them not getting Fender.

She's headline or nothing now and I'm not the biggest fan. But shes also reigned her on stage antics in a bit.

That Sunday top 4 run is great, the top 4 Saturday however is a different case haha.

Becky Hill (won't play 4th down), Richard, Paramore, Duran Duran or YYYs would be an ace Saturday. I dont think Richard will ever do it though, there has been too many opportunities.

Definitely think we’ll see some names who appeared on the smaller stages this year getting promoted to the big stages - Rachel Chinouriri, Lambrini Girls, Red Rum Club and Chloe Slater I could definitely see getting prominent slots. Alessi Rose and Nieve Ella too.

Heartworms!!!   hopefully on Woodsies!

Though i think that would be 3 in a row for Lambrini Girls - how does it work with a fallow year. Normally it seems bands only do 2 in a row.

2 more random suggestions on the other headliner front -

Stereophonics...  Would they accept a lower billing than headliner, there defo not Pyramid siz anymore

Childish Gambino - did cancel all gigs recently but 2 years is a lot of time

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
