Nervous this year, go the little one (6) staying for a day of the music for the first time. Really hoping he copes with it ok!

I haven't been as excited as normal due to lots going on and haven't really had as much time to think about it ... but now its nearly here the excitement is definitely ramping up now.  Cannot wait to get set-up on Wednesday and get exploring again.  Also cannot wait for what is an all timer Friday for me

What day … my friend is just sorting out having his kids for the day on sat  and going to drop off at bath and west on  to collect them ? I think the turnaround is pretty decent but I did tell him 10ish might be the busiest time so might be worth doing it earlier

Weirdly not very excited, but I think it's just because I've been so busy.

 

When we pull onto site tomorrow evening, I'm sure the excitement and emotion will hit (unless it's pissing it down 😅👀)

Normally we get in and set up and then the grandparents drop him and his cousin (also 6) down about 1pm on Wed and then we give him back first thing Friday morning. 

 

This year he staying until Saturday morning and we have a 1yr old with him and his cousin too (not ours though).

 

They absolutely love the Wed and Thursday but the Friday always feels so much busier and I'm worried how he'll do with the crowds and music volume. 

 

We've got ear defenders, a converted wagon/trolley for him to chill in and we'll be pretty much camped at the pyramid for Lewis, Alanis, Biffy, 1975 so not too much moving him around. He really likes Miles Smith and I can't decide whether trying to get him in to Woodsies is a terrible idea. We normally get in front of the sound desk at the back in the middle as always seems to be space there regardless of outside busyness.

 

One way to find out and luckily we are Bristol based so can send out an SOS to come get him early at relatively little fuss if needed.

I'm currently sitting in Bristol Airport doing a few hours work before I get picked up and go on site. I've been going (working) since 2009 and decided to end my time in 2023 which was IMO a classic (2022 was just aggy).  I started to get a wee tingle of 'one more?' in January and thought f*ck it. I don't think I've looked forward to one as much as this!

That flexibility sounds pretty decent you can decide based on kids tiredness and yours with them so you have a decent control over how the festival goes . Think I’ll join my friend with his 2 for a bit to help out . Enjoy

I'm feeling the same. I have also had this weird Oasis fever come over me in the last couple of weeks, where everything I've got to look forward to between now and July just seems like something I've got to get through before seeing Oasis. Hoping that once we pack the car up, the excitement will start to kick in
