Eight months away and we already got our first cancellation.

I saw her faint video a few days ago and wondered if it means she's out. Still think 8 months is a lot, more than foreseeable future, so who knows

Foreseeable future is indeed up for interpretation. But watch Primavera be silent until two weeks prior to the festival when the schedule drops, and then announce "we regret to inform you that Lola Young dropped out".

This is one of the most insensitive postings I’ve seen here.

She’s a 24 year old with mental health problems. Who likely has no idea how she will feel tomorrow, let alone in 8 months.

And odd to take it as an opportunity to bash the festival too.

Nothing in my posts was bashing the artist or making light of whatever sad thing she's going through whatsoever. And the festival has a history of reporting late on cancellations after they are obvious to others.

Ok, then it was an odd moan instead.

Complaining someone has cancelled when there are still 8 months to go.

Then claiming with your crystal ball that the festival is going to bury this theoretical cancellation.

Must be exhausting to be that negative!

Stating news about an act who's more than likely gonna drop from the lineup is not a complaint. The only one being negative here is yourself.

Yeah I didn't read that as a complaint either. If Lola Young is cancelling her tour dates for the "foreseeable future", then PS should confirm if she will no longer perform. In fact I think it would be preferable that she's not on the lineup so she has a clear schedule and can focus on recovering.

Lets have her replaced with someone actually good please

agreed they have a reputation for not announcing extremely obvious cancellations for months and expect this to be no different

the sad reality is that if it sells as poorly as it appears to have done so far there wont be a direct replacement

350 euros plus fees is not gonna do many tickets for this lineup and there is no way it sells out. With the revolut discount its still 359 euros after fees or circa £314

locals priced out

accomodation stupid prices

only reasonable uk flights left are from london

Cuitat is going to need to be incredible to move the needle

the cure day tickets likely sell out when released, i’ll grant that

at least getting on a tram will be easy!

The festival ticket also comes with Ciutat stuff, so you could get a week's worth of music out of it.

But the earlybird purchasers are the true winners here.

Absolutely

Early birds were about 260 euros incl fees (245 plus) so about £225-£230 which cheaper than most other uk fests.

whereas the final price is more expensive than any uk fest!

If you ask me it's nonsense to write Lola Young is out in 8 months. Maybe she will be back stronger even in 6 months, who knows. May playing at Primavera Sound 2026 will be her big goal to come back? I have seen Lewis Capaldi this year at his surprise gig at Openair St. Gallen one day after the Glastonbury surprise, and he told us he wanted to make it there by any means because people from the festival have been singing his songs and sending get well wishes from the festival after he had to cancel.

Exactly. She has a tour now, that's clearly the 'foreseeable future'.

No one knows at this point if it will take weeks, months or a year

On the contrary, I'd say cancelling everything for the foreseeable future means cancelling all scheduled tour dates and appearances, including primavera 26.

Why? Do you know how long it will take? Cancel and then what happens if it takes 3 months?

I think PS are in a better place than festivals that didn't announce her yet (assuming there are such), it is very problematic to announce her now, but if you already did just wait for things to clear out, there's enough time

Because she's said she's cancelling everything?  I dont think her post is ambiguous. She's not well, and probably doesnt need the pressure of promoters etc checking in on her recovery.

Why do you think it sells poorly?

And if it really does, they might be motivated to add someone as soon as possible.

Yeah we have absolutely no indication it does. My list of appartments i made formmy trip was cut from 15 to 5 the day of the line up announcement, my flight filled up considerably.

Capaldi took a two year break from playing live shows though, not eight months.

Huh? Why are we thinking this? Tickets have only been on sale for a few days.

Surely it’s more affordable because they don’t need to book travel and accommodation…

VIP almost tripling in price in 8 years despite being stripped for parts year on year is really not what you want to see from a festival that talks as if it's 'for the people'.

That being said, VIP tends to sell out faster than general admission. Do we think they just know there'll always be gullible people willing to pay more to feel like they're getting an exclusive experience? Is the slow Americanisation of all festivals with tiered pricing and experiential gatekeeping just inevitable at this point?

Also I don't like how fast tickets have gone up in price this year. We're less than 4 months since the festival happened and we're already at €350+fees? I know the lineup is out early but a lot of people I know simply don't have €250 lying around in the middle of summer. Now they're being punished for not having enough cash and will have to pay a premium? It doesn't sit well with me.

some excellent points made there... I fully agree, and considering these points makes me less disappointed I'm not going next year.

What are you going off here? If it's anecdotal evidence, I actually know more people who already have a ticket (it's October!) than I did in almost all of the last 5 years. Not saying that means it's selling well but my point is there's not much of an indication either way and we can all make claims based on our own social circles.

Social media engagement for the lineup reveal did better numbers than last year and I think we'd all agree the general sentiment around the lineup this year is as strong as it's been for years (maybe 2022 being the exception). We'll see, but I wouldn't make a strong claim either way yet.
