I'd like to see Gorillaz back, they've still got an unbelievable back catalogue to play. Doubt Damon would put up with headlining other though

I suspect they might be likelier spotted at their own shows going forward. May well be too that they're active in 2026 with a new album and touring then in 2027 Damon is off doing something else.

Depends what metric we're measuring.

Hell, I think the two Everything Not Saved... albums in 2019 are Foals' best two albums, but am aware they didn't create a big hit akin to Holy Fire or even What Went Down's two main singles.

What went down died pretty quickly and was the start of their demise and any chance of headlining.

Dunno how you figured that out, 3 of their top 5 most streamed songs are from that album.

It might have changed since but it was fairly well regarded that the drop off from that album did them no favours. Another Holy Fire and they might have made it but 10 years too late.

Think the drop off came from the Everything Saved era onwards. By every metric What Went Down was just as big as Holy Fire.

The strange thing is when you search Foals on Spotify, What Went Down comes up ahead of Holy Fire under popular releases.

I think What Went Down and Mountain at my Gates do the heavy lifting tbf.

Tame are incredibly flat live, too.

Park in 2011 was a chore and I loved Innerspeaker at the time. Tried again in 2019 on the Other and we left after four tracks for Jon Hopkins (excellent choice).

I thought they were great in 2016. They're not going to headline the pyramid though I agree.

Can somebody remind us what the official line is on ‘27 headliners at this point? Has Emily confirmed any are booked? I can’t recall.

Post-fallow, I think we have to presume they’ll be going for a big ‘we’re back’ statement trio. Presumably they’ll try to bag a huge female act (Swift? Madonna?), and maybe a ‘last one and done’?

Hopefully it will be Gaga

Gaga is the golden goose. If they get her you’d expect a couple of ‘mid’ sized to accompany her like Fender, Roan et al

There is no chance they pass up on Oasis in 2027. If they managed to get Oasis and Gaga then the last one will be cheap and likely a cheap/new bump up. There is nothing to suggests Gaga currently though.

Oasis I think it's the strongest prediction currently.

I really don't see Gaga happening. If there was a Glasto next year then maybe but I just don't see it working for her. (With absolutely no info at all), I can see next year being stadiums and then I genuinely think she might take some time out for a family.

I find it staggering Lady Gaga hasn't headlined yet.  She would smash it too.  She was being interviewed by the BBC and they asked her what it would take to get her to headline.  He response was just "ask me".

Surely Taylor Swift is the golden goose. The one they had locked in before the pandemic and who got away because she became too big for festivals. She’s the biggest act they could book as things stand.

    • Yeah, I was just joking.
    • Ahhh if anyone manages to grab a spare one of these, would love one! Haven’t been in years & just don’t have the budget, so this would be so amazing!
    • it's already twice as expensive as it used to be just a few years ago, so surely there's not a lot of room for them to increase it much further now. I'd hope not anyway as it's already prohibitively expensive!
