After this morning's announcement, I'd be looking at Noah Kahan to sub Sam Fender I think.

(Also, some great chat over the weekend team, was some really interesting points)

Wait until he’s announced this week as the 3rd headliner 😂😂

I saw Noah a while back as the undercard to Dermot Kennedy and thought he was terrible. The songs came across as dull, and they all sounded the same. So, I am a little surprised at his popularity boom recently, but as always, each to their own. If we all liked the same stuff, it'd be dull.

Yeah, he's not my thing at all, and I think he is the perfect artist to show how the live music industry works at the minute. One popular song on TikTok and it's a £100pp arena tour and a Hyde Park show (which will probably sell very well). Insane to me, but I don't know if we'll escape him here.

Also, if you want to believe someone who has said they’ve been given info on Festileaks then Linkin Park are headlining and Bryan Adams is doing TW Classic

I can understand Linkin this year, so that's fair enough. I would love to see Bryan Adams as a novelty act as well, but if he's big enough to do TW Classic then good for him. He's one of those you would think are only touring to squeeze the last drops out of the lemon, but I saw him a few months ago and his shows are actually really cool. He still kicks ass and is not just standing around for 90 minutes not caring. Also, some of his newer music is actually quite alright. He will definitely wipe the floor with any tik tok-artist.

How to say you are old, without saying it. 🤣

I´d be very happy with Iggy Pop, Deftones, Weezer and Supergrass from that announcement. Have no idea who Noah is but I suppose the TikTok-generation knows more;)

Deftones were awesome a couple of years ago at Graspop. I'd happily see them again. Iggy still hurts. Can't forget standing in front of those red crosses for a very long time, while it was pouring down, hoping for a miracle that they'll re-open the doors and nowhere else to go (Stormzy on the main).

Deftones are still on my too-see list! I was lucky enough to see Iggy indoors in the Barn last summer but I´d be happy to watch that old fellow again.

Catering for the older audience, is one area Werchter does very well. To much? That's down to interpretation and tickt sales.

Yeah, we'll see how long they can stay relevant to us "seniors". Always liked Werchter, because you find people 20-30 years older than yourself and realize that you have a few more years left if desired. Last year was the first time i started considering next year, but we'll gamble on a glitch, and will probably buy tickets next year as well (which means 12 in a row).

However if Saturday/Sunday last year (except for Foo and a few other exceptions) will be how it looks going forward, that might come to an end quicker than we anticipated..

    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
