As prices currently stand Lebara seems like the cheapest provider using the Vodafone signal

 

Lebara worked great in 23 and 24 for me. About £5 for plenty of data to cover you for the week.

Lebara second Sim was a game changer last year as I have an O2 contract and it was dreadfull in 23. Check out USwitch for cheap 3 month deals. Didnt realise you could have all calls and texts filtered through your main number so was so easy to use.

EE always works great for me. Was able to stream the england game on my phone with no issues whilst watching Brittany Howard up the west holts last year. Although they don't sponsor the festival nowadays I believe they still have several masts on the site

I really need to find out how to set this up. Last year had old phone, no dual SIM capability, on O2 contract. Crap signal on site. Slightly better than 2022 & 2023 but not much. Now have iPhone 16+ so could get a second eSIM, but no idea how to set it up for data but keep main number for calls/texts.

Only downside with Lebara is they don't offer an ESIM.

 

Best ESIM deal I can find looks like a 30-day contract with Voxi (on Vodafone network) which is currently offering 60GB for just £10, or £5 if you purchase through Topcashback.

Switch your current service to an eSIM then get a lebara sim. it’s what I did last year. I’m now on Vodafone.

EE has worked fine for me, even in 24 when they switched to Vodafone as the official provider.

Can confirm O2 reception poor last year. I could only talk to family back home on occasion if I was in an area from Stone Circle to Tipi Fields, must've be the leylines providing a boost ;). 

I get that it's important to keep in touch with friends around other parts of festival site but for me this lack of signal was a godsend as it kept me cut off from normal life and fully absorbed in the world inside the wall. This feeling is worth weighing up against the cost of spending any money to get a better reception. Do you really really need it?

I have found o2 to be dreadful at every festival I have been to in the last couple of years. I’ve moved to three now because I got a better deal. But in a way it was quite nice because there was less demand.

Yeah O2 - my primary sim, was next to useless last year on site, except maybe very early in the morning when I was chilling in the tent before the entire place woke up.

Grabbed a Lyca e-sim before I went and switching to that was night and day for data usage. Goes on EE network AFAIK, and is £5 for 30GB for the month, can't argue with it. I get a 4G/5G all over the place on it so use it primarily as my data sim now.

Yeah. We gonna get an esim from voda or whatever for the trip. I mean easiest for me was to get one at the airport cause theyre just there for sale. I mean, maybe the prices are a ripoff. But I swear I recall sim cards at Heathrow for £25 for 30gb. But i imagine thats changed. But you can still just get an esim at a shop, right?

Apologies if I sound stupid here but I'm clueless with a lot of this stuff.

 

I have a iPhone 13 mini on o2,  what do I need to do to use another network at the festival?

 

Do I just activate one of these esims just before the festival then switch networks when I'm on site? Is it that simple?

I use roaming from my Aussie network until I get to the farm, then pop into the Vodafone area on the Wednesday and get a free sim that lasts for the festival. Worked perfectly last year.

Three was pretty rubbish again last year. You have bars but there's not enough data capacity to go around. 

Cycling aeroplane mode on and off sometimes give you a minute of data back to check messages etc but I'm going to use a Lebara PAYGO sim this year. Friends with Vodafone had no issues.

Does your Aussie network have a UK partner? You might just be able to switch which UK operator your phone selects. Unless, of course, roaming is super expensive for you.

I'm with Voxi anyway which is a sister of Vodafone. Never had a problem (and it's a cheap all year round deal!).

You can run two eSIMs at the same time but not Two eSIMs and a Physical sim. Just change your o2 to eSIM and the rest is easy

 

I'm currently running o2 eSIM with a Spusu eSIM which uses the EE network and is great year round when o2 lacks but I still get the visual voicemail and o2 rewards that I don't want to lose

I know my phone can do that, but I wouldn't like to assume everything can. Would expect that different manufacturers/models have had different implementations.

My Sony Xperia 10V can host multiple ESIM profiles but can only have one active at a time.

its also worth factoring in battery drain .... I had 2 sims but switched one off because EE was fine and it was much better on my battery .... sadly phone is another year done and it's going to be worse again .... cant switch off bluetooth as it connects to my blood sugar sensor

Lebara worked great for me last year and I hope it does this year too as I will be watching the British Lions on Saturday morning.
