Just can’t see Muse headlining in 2025. They are great live but everything they’ve released in the past few years has been absolute sh*t

You could say that about a lot of “legacy” headliners at most festivals all over the world.

When was the last time the Rolling Stones released anything of note for example 🤷‍♂️ ….. A lot further back than muse.

The album they released in 2023 was excellent.

Agreed with this, some great tracks.
Also saw them at Madcool a few years ago (hadn’t seen them for years) and they still put on a brilliant show, would probably watch them (depending on what else was on at the time).

This all adds up now, Emily's New Year post was in the middle of the stones! It's happening!

Any chance of Bruce Springsteen or Billy Joel ?

Bruce Springsteen is in Germany the Friday of Glastonbury

Billy Joel is in Liverpool the week before Glastonbury

Which night would billy joel headline? Think he’d be brilliant but not sure where he’d fit in. The Sunday maybe?

We comparing Muse to the Rolling Stones now?

Both can be effectively ruled out on the basis of dates being closer together than they're prepared to do these days.

Now Young is out, I can see Charli XCX getting bumped to headline the Pyramid if she's already on the radar. People might not like it but she's the biggest artist in the world at the moment and could easily be justified to top the bill.

Then they'd (if everyone's predictions are right) need an Other Stage headliner, which is much easier to fill. Maybe Noah Kahan or Paramore?

Charli XCX is not the biggest artist in the world. Not by a long shot.

    • 90,000 on a single for day or over the weekend?   if it was for the whole weekend that’s disastrous   Given camping didn’t sell out unless they in effect transferred a lot of camping captivity to Chappell Roan day tickets 90,000 is absolute capacity there I think, so it would be hard to believe   i think it’s from the year before but the TPD tv footage when the killers are headlining makes it look like it’s at best half full
    • A part of me thinks weirdly they might hold off on Chaka/Robbie until they have a year where nobody else who fits the bill is available. This slot takes a very specific set of criteria, and I can't imagine they're flushed with options who are on tour and would take the smaller payday every year. Both Chaka and Robbie have expressed interest in doing it, so they're bankers for a year where fewer options are available. Which may well be 2027.
    • Chaka and Robbie got to have decent chances due to previous reports
    • Chaka is a west holts act all day long and yes please (as part of my vaguely purple day that I am still trying to make happen).   Teatime? Bryan Adams.
