2025 Headliners

Friday - The 1975 v Loyle Carner

Saturday - Neil Young v Charli XCX

Sunday - O Rod v Prodigy

Interesting balances, would give me Friday definitely free from the main two stages, and I could be tempted away the Sunday.

Assuming Rod -> Chic -> Duran Duran completely rules out Chappell? Assumed the festival would have loved to get three out of Charli / O Rod / Chappell / Sabrina. Unless Sabrina gets some afternoon Other slot like Billie Eilish and O Rod did previous?

Despite earlier indications of 1975/Fred/O Rod and worries the festival was catering too much to the TikTokkers, it seems a lot more balanced with new rumours.

At a push, I'd watch The 1975 and Olivia, but wouldn't be devastated to miss any of those, or Rod or Chic. Probably would be up for Duran Duran if they played though!

Friday and Sunday not really interested...seen Prodigy at raves when I was a kid and festivals when I was young and full of come so maybe that will be a nice bit of nostalgia. Saturday would be difficult though, head or heart?

Quite like to see what is going on elsewhere.

Duran Duran getting seventy-five minutes presumably beneath Olivia Rodrigo, so stick to your legends guns and you're having a blast.

The Wild Boys

Hungry Like the Wolf

Come Undone

Notorious

A View to a Kill

(Reach Up for the) Sunrise

Is There Something I Should Know?

Ordinary World

White Lines (Don't Don't Do It)

10 Planet Earth

11 Girls on Film

12 Save a Prayer

13 The Reflex
14 Rio

Amazing set list. Wall to wall singalong perfection. I’d be there if it comes off

And I hate Duran Duran.

I just can't see the festival deciding to close the Pyramid with Olivia Rodrigo... not after last year.   I know she's massive, but amongst the Glasto Sunday crowd (locals, lawn chairs and picknet blankets) I think there's a chance of a mass early exodus, like the scenes of last year.

I'd imagine they want to head into the fallow year with an Elton John level of Pyramid field satisfaction.

Just now, Badlands said:

Has he got bigger since his WH headline? Does seem a high placing for him.

I honestly don't know. Yet again, I do love him and his music and thought his 2023 West Holts set was one of the best I saw that year but I didn't even know he would be active next year. I am surprised to see him so high up so soon, I thought if his next album did really well and boosted him up, he'd be well in contention.

I’m one of those people ( aged over 60 yrs) who confesses to not knowing anything by O-Rod, or CXCX or Chappel Roan so wouldn’t be a major draw but I might give it a go just for curiosity. Not that fussed over 1975. Would be really pleased with Taylor ( seen her on Eras ) or Rhianna, or Duran or Neil Young. Stevie in 2010 was ok but he was pushing it then so might be a struggle at his age now although same could be said for Neil Young. 🤷‍♀️

At the end of the day there will be lots of options for headliners other than Pyramid.

    • 13th Primavera (Thursday was definitely making me feel like this was the cursed year).  Blood Orange was such a party by the end of their set but we all knew that rain storm was approaching.  So gutted Massive Attack didn't play after the false hope of a new rescheduling, especially knowing that Elizabeth Fraser & Horace Andy were backstage with them!  Managed a bit of Melt Banana but was just so over the weather by that point.   Friday was awesome, Rilo Kiley were so much fun.  Never been the biggest Cure fan but made the effort for them after Thursday & Robert Smith sounds like he did back in the 80s.  PinkPantheress & Viagra Boys were also great.   The highlight for me was Sudan Archives on the Saturday, she was stunning & with the Olivia Rodrigo surprise set too it made up for the Thursday sh*t show.  Dijon & Knocked Loose also superb.   Shoutout to Cardiacs on the Tuesday too, they were so LOUD, played a storming set.
    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
