I really can't see past O-Rod for one spot and if the hyperbole be believed, Fred Again... is nailed on.  To balance that, surely they'd be looking for a heritage female act.  Madge - no chance (thank f**k) but maybe Chaka Khan, Stevie Nicks or Annie Lennox?  Personally I'd die to see Annie Lennox with a mix of solo/Eurythmics hits smashing the merry hell out of el Pointo, but must be least likely of the trio.  I guess there'd be a question mark over whether Chaka Khan is big enough but she would be great in the legend slot, so Stevie Nicks the obvious contender.

Fred - Friday

Stevie - Saturday

Chaka - Legend

O-Rod - Sunday party time.

Saw Chaka Khan on Wednesday night. Massive bag of hits, absolutely superb night had by all. Sign me up.

Would Pulp as Pyramid closer actually get more punters than SZA?

They didn’t exactly fill TRNSMT last year but I reckon so. Thats a low bar TBF.

I could play Happy Birthday with the spoons for 2 hours and it'd draw a bigger crowd than SZA.

but could you get a billion streams?

Let me think. Would national treasures Pulp, with all their beloved hits and bangers, attract a bigger crowd than an act that a sizeable proportion of the punters was largely unfamiliar with?

In all probability they'd not fill the field, but it'd be a decent crowd and I'm sure far fewer punters would have packed up and b*ggered off on the Sunday

100%

If people are predicting Stevie Nicks to headline, don't see how Pulp are out of the question. They could easily do Legend as well to be fair, certainly have been around long enough.

I'm not sure if Stevie Nicks is there but tour wise she's very similar to Pulp

Don't think Asake is subbing pyramid just yet to be honest. Would be very empty for him into Iron Maiden i think

Hearing Fear of the Dark blast out of the Pyramid speakers would be surreal*.

*In a good way.

They've got a big 50th anniversary tour planned for next year apparently, which is rumoured to hit Europe in June

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Childish Gambino would both not accept anything other than Pyramid headliner.

You could even argue CXCX will be pushing for the step up.

I would agree for Childish Gambino, as he hasn't played non-headline slots at festivals for a while, I wouldn't agree for Nick Cave or Charli XCX though. They've played before in lower slots, Charli is a lot bigger than when she headlined Woodsies, and could headline next year depending on her trajectory. Nick Cave hasn't gotten that much bigger since he subbed Pyramid in 2013

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
