If it was there last time theres nothing wrong with thinking it might be there again.

We do WV we arent w*nkers or Tory voters. We are the wrong side of 50 and have paid our dues over the last 20 odd years. Its not a crime to want abit of comfort. All our neighbours have been lovely. We work bloody hard in that sinking ship that is the NHS and dont need to apologise for paying to camp. That hill is a blinking nightmare though.

Tbh, I worked a shift in the posh camping and everyone was sound, very "rah where's my baccy" but all seemed genuinely happy, had a lot of time and patience with the stewards and were down for a chat about what they were excited for.

There's a tad of the 'inverse snobbery' about some of the responses here (IMO). 

If my back worked properly, I promise you all, I'd be in regular camping with everyone else. But it doesn't, so I save up and pay more to be closer to the main site.  I see it as part of the cost of a 5 night holiday.

I come from a modest background. Not loaded parents. Worked in a North Notts mining village 'working mens club' whilst doing my a-levels. Went to uni and then life changed. Married someone who was a high earner (divorced now LOL). And I can honestly tell you I've met as many wealthy d*cks as I've met those who have a lot less 'wealth'. 

To summarise, just because folk have £££ it doesn't mean they're hateful and can't appreciate the 'spirit' of The Farm.

I was stewarding in sticklinch last year, and I'm not gonna lie, I allowed my inverse snobbery get the better of me before hand (mostly it was the fact it was f**king miles away that bothered me rather than who I'd be encountering). Not thinking that everyone was going to be a snob or anything more just that having paid a premium there'd be an element of entitlement. And, unsurprisingly, people were fine. No better or worse than the average punter. As someone else has said it does skew slightly older.

The biggest dicks were the people trying to blag in. I've got no problem with people trying but when I've said no, then that's your prompt to f**k off!

I've no idea why pampering is worth the bother- but if you want to do it, obviously, why not? I'm glad they are evidently going to be in place after all. Sticklinch is a way away from stuff and yeah you don't really want to be 'popping back there for a jumper'.. but it is quiet and safe. I saw nobody I would dislike for any reason. Everyone seemed fine, friendly, respectful.

Last year I got a good view of a fence jumper in the top corner behind the compost loos,  and the ensuing keystone cop/Benny hill security chase.

Yup. Turning 40 this year, been going since I was 18, fairly sure back then I was an insufferable "why would anyone need glamping/showers/a trolly?" prick. 

But you get older, things stop working, you start to realise that people aren't doing this stuff because they want luxury, they're doing it out of medical necessity. 

(The flip side being, lots of people just stop going. And those with no issues that impact on their festival experience whine about how their friends don't go anymore and it's all young people and the festival isn't what it used to be.)

 I think if glamping/pre-errected wasn't an option at festivals in general you would see a much higher drop off rate of people once they hit an age where they feel they can no longer do standard camping anymore.  You would also notice a drop off in income for festivals as older people naturally bring more revenue into the festivals whether its for accommodation, food, drink etc.
