  1. I used to have to work with See as a 3rd party supplier to a client I used to have. can't say who it was (it was Manchester City FC) 😁 They're a bit basic and it amazed me when I found out they did The Farm tickets also. Someone needs to take on the ticketing and do it properly - do it as a corporate/social responsibility/charity thing. IMO

Ok you've got my attention now. Will Google it 😊

Agree. I always tell people "if you've been to other festivals, but not The Farm, it's impossible to explain The Farm".

    Other Festivals

I've done: Green Man x 1 Wilderness x 1 Bestival x 1 and IoW X 3 As others have said it's really difficult to compare anything to The Farm. Depends what you're after I guess. I had good times at all the above FWIW
  5. Just watching Elton again on iPlayer. Balling my eyes out 🥲☺️
  6. No it's not just you. Me too. Lewis Elton and various random DJ sets because i was with my bezzy's and it was amazing 😍
  7. I've never secured a ticket. There's 18 of us (3 x groups of 6) and a spreadsheet or something and then I try and my browser hangs on ticket day - then I go back to bed and my girlfriend starts screaming (if we get tickets). This year 12 out of the 18 got tickets and we tried in the resale for the 'lost 6' but no joy. Lottery innit.
  8. Saw/experienced a few choke points. E.g., boy did they underestimate how many would go and see Example! But generally much better than last year imho.
  9. You could definitely get a 4 man tent in. In fact ours was (albeit a small one). People around us had much bigger tents. I think there's a few 'pitch your own' pitch size options. Ours was 6m x 6m.
  10. Sort of related: this year the girlfriend and I did Love Fields 'pitch your own' (2019 we did the full yurt thing there). Drive in and park next to your pitch, pitch tent and then move car to car park (literally 2 mins away) loads of water points, showers and toilets (apparently there were sometimes small queues for showers, but I was never awake at the busy times - by 11-12 they were empty) <10 minute walk to Gate C It was £750 and you don't get access to some of the fancy bar for the full glamping people nor is breakfast included. But there is a bar you can use and a couple of food places (I never tried any of those so can't comment, didn't check prices either). I appreciate this isn't cheap and you still have to pitch your own tent. But not having to carry stuff for miles (my old back is ruined) and it's proximity to gate C, means I'd definitely do it again. I best get saving up (and get an event ticket also obv) for next year.

    Favourite DJ Set

In no particular order: - Chems (saw the last half) - leftfield - Helena Hauf (saw the last 20 mins) - Daniel Avery (after Helena) - fat boy slim - levels and the park. Oh yes. Such a good atmosphere. I saw more (apparently) but don’t reminder. But all round this was a great time on the farm for me.
  12. They need to not go mental with the ticket prices. Or it’ll be full of people who are either loaded or knew someone at the BBC and got a ticket. I’d pay more. But my wallet isn’t infinite. The beauty of The Farm is the mix of people who go and you meet. So long May only modest ticket price rises last.
  13. Having caught the last couple of tracks only at the time, and now started watching it from the start on iPlayer, I really wish I'd see Fred Again's Park set.
  14. Doesn't need to be 2023 specific and I can see we've threads on regrets for artists/sets missed and frustrations....but I am interested in people's errors/fails. Let me open the bidding: Last Weds the intention of Mrs. TomW and I was to leave home around 1000-1030. We'd pretty much packed the night before and so knew where everything was and just needed to get food/drink out of fridge/freezer. We made good time and by 1000 were loading the car. We left the house around 1045 in the end. It's around 145 miles for us to the site. With no festival traffic, I'd allow 3.5hrs. But was thinking it'd be around 5hrs. 20 mins into the journey: Mrs TomW: "hey is my small day pack in the car?" Me: "yeah everything was at the side of the car and I am sure it's all in the back somewhere...must be, I can barely see through the rear view mirror..." Mrs TomW: "are you sure? Please can we stop so I can check?" Me: "I am sure no, need to stop now...." Mrs TomW: "ok". We made pretty good time and got to Shepton Mallet around 1430. Then we hit the queue. We we're stationary (edging slowly forward occasionally) - and other people in the queue we're getting out of the car, stretching legs and getting drinks out of the boot etc. Mrs TomW: "Stay here, I am going to check the boot to make sure my day pack is in the car. it's got my event ticket and wallet in". Me: "ok, it's deffo in there. But proper lol if its not....." Mrs TomW: *checks boot* "erm, it's not there......" Me: "arrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhh. Right, let's turn round now and go back..." It could have been much worse - my GF called her 18yr old son (just finished his a-levels and does drive). He confirmed her day pack was sat in the middle of the drive. She sent him petrol money and he set off to meet me at Andover services. I dropped the GF at the campsite (we were staying off site near gate C) and they we're happy to let us in. Car duly unpacked and 2 very nice couples helped my GF setup. I set off for another 100mile round trip to get her bag. Eventually got back just before 1900. Camp all nicely setup. A couple of cold beers and into the festival we went. I am glad we can laugh about it now....
  15. I made the last maybe 15-20 mins of Helena and then most of Avery. Was very, very good. And was nice to catch up with @bennyhana22 again.

    The Levels

Loved The Levels. As others have said they’ve really upped the game at Silver Hayes. IMG_1304.mov
  17. Just done another supermarket run for last minute bits and bobs (for 'bits and bobs' read '4.5litres of vodka') and brimmed the car full of Shell's finest. Now just need to pack this evening and tomorrow morning. I've got an exhaustive list, know where most of the stuff is (checked the tent this weekend) and we're leaving ~10am tomorrow (will be ~4hr drive I reckon). Have an amazing time on The Farm everyone!

    Beer Prices

I tend to take most of my own booze (camelbaks full of vodka lime and tonic (or gin) anyone?) - but do buy the odd drink in the festival. I feel about Sick Squid is fair and about right.

    Fatboy Slim

I saw the set at the Isle of Wight festival (you tube link given above) and saw him at The Farm last year and then at Brighton on the Beach thingy. You kinda know what you're going to get. But it is one big party (if that's your thing).
  20. This is a toughie. I need context. Because I’ve got tunes for occasions None of us need to go through my funeral playlist right now. But it is epic
  21. There's a tad of the 'inverse snobbery' about some of the responses here (IMO). If my back worked properly, I promise you all, I'd be in regular camping with everyone else. But it doesn't, so I save up and pay more to be closer to the main site. I see it as part of the cost of a 5 night holiday. I come from a modest background. Not loaded parents. Worked in a North Notts mining village 'working mens club' whilst doing my a-levels. Went to uni and then life changed. Married someone who was a high earner (divorced now LOL). And I can honestly tell you I've met as many wealthy d*cks as I've met those who have a lot less 'wealth'. To summarise, just because folk have £££ it doesn't mean they're hateful and can't appreciate the 'spirit' of The Farm.
  22. Getting excited now. If there's any trance folk wanting entertainment between 20:00-22:00 this evening then listen to DJ Danos on Pure dance live: https://pdlive.net/index.php No commercials involved. Just a nice group having a laugh.
  23. Mine is not 'the farm' specific but I had it in time for last year's event. But I am pondering my next one and it might well be Glastonbury related. 🤷‍♂️
  24. As much as I really want to see Thread again - it's going to be like Calvin Harris at Arcadia last year, where I got there in good time and then the crowds kept arriving....more and more and I got scared and had to leave 👴😁
