That said, it’s such a satisfying job seeing a field being transformed in a matter of minutes. 

Wonder if they could be contacted through that with the farm love no trace message … guess it’s too longwinded sadly 😞 …. One initial thought is maybe the camping fields need f**koff great signs about the message also … although it does create its own waste

I did once send a follow up postcard to someone that had left their name and address - clearly they'd ordered a load of brand new gear for the festival and left both that and the receipts lying around. Postcard had a tongue in cheek 'don't bother coming back if you're going to do this again' message - I like to think the recipient would have had at least a moment of confusion before binning it dismissively😆

I hate seeing so much kit left behind Monday morning. Seemed pretty bad this year being honest and it's a bit of a sad way to end things after such an amazing festival.

I think the heat or the prospect of it was a big factor same as in muddy years. No excuse but there were a lot of people heading home looking completely knackered in the heat Monday morning and stuff left on route to the car park. Big tents get left because a trolley broke or people leaving Sunday night/early hours due to the hot weather warning. As I said it’s no excuse but for first timers who completely underestimated the trek to the car park it coach area you can see why they might not bother. Also heard of a few people who went to take stuff to car and came back to find their tent taken already!

Few people left stuff behind in camper vans east which I've never seen before (although I'm sure it's happened). One pitch had a load of litter, camping gear and crap strewn across it.

I've often wondered if a series of bins like those you have for charity collections would help with some of this sort of stuff - I get it shouldn't be needed but would it help?

Maybe anything found with an address on should get a fake letter sent out, saying they are banned from future festivals and not to bother even getting a ticket because facial recognition software will cancel it.

The amount of stuff left behind does coincide with the amount of first-timers this year.  I wonder if the festival is considering reverting back to the old ticket system, very unlikely I know, but surely something they should think about especially with the other issues with this years ticket system.

Definitely agree about not seeing the “leave no trace” message this year, saw loads of people peeing on the land too.

Higher class of festival goer in the campervan fields though isnt it? Away from the common vermin within the fence. 

 

Within the fence though, defo a first timer issue this year.

 

Just got sent this from a mate on litter duty.

I don't understand the whole fill the urinals with cans / pint pots? If someone can explain that to me i'd love to know.

I pulled a few up on it throughout the weekend, suprisingly it wasnt all young lads some people older than me looked at me with the “yeah youre right but ive done it anyway “ look.

I stayed outside the fence this year (as i have on many occasions) and that site wasnt great either tents matresses and weirdly a buggy all there when i left

My main gripe is the urinal troughs are too high off  the ground. I end up peeing on the ground whilst stood at the trough

The most surprising things I came across multiple times today was piles of discarded underwear and socks, along with the ripped off tags from sports direct. Just worn once and chucked. Very strange behaviour

Yes, just a few meters away from us. It was still there when we left.

I thought Kidney Mead and (especially) Big Ground looked a lot worse this year for abandoned tents and crap than in the previous couple of years; on the flipside it felt like some areas of the festival had a lot less litter in them this year - Theatre and Circus was extremely clean on all four mornings of our shift with stuff piled high 'tetris-style' on bins, so folk are making the effort when they're out and about.

I'm with you on this, you have got that far, I do sometimes wonder though why they don't just put troughs on all walls in there as they know people piss on the sides anyway?

I thought that too, cover all walls then hopefully there’s no excuse. I don’t understand why they walk in there stop a couple of meters short of the urinal and go there, rather than wait 30 seconds for a place at the urinal. One I saw was doing it when the urinals weren’t even busy, someone did call him out on it shouting “it’s just there, literally just there!” But the clown seemed completely unaware or not bothered.
