Well, kind of...

Normally stage running orders go from smallest to biggest acts each day and the Other opener slot finds acts that wouldn't usually be at that end of the running order.

I think the reason it’s a big deal is because it signifies the opening of the main stages, as it’s scheduled slightly earlier than Pyramid. There’s usually someone pretty well known in that slot, and a bit retro. I wouldn’t put it immediately below Legend in terms like you have though, headlining Park, Woodside, etc or even subbing a main stage (for example) are (in my opinion) much more of a deal.

Cos it has a wee bit of mystery about it. The Pyramid opener is invariably actually better.

Ziggy is good but I'm glad I was at Libertines. Other Stage opener with a morning beer is a tradition for me now.

Saw Ocean Colour Scene at BDs a few years ago. Was really looking forward to them but they just dialled it in. So disappointing 😞
