Tash Sultana on the 8th. I guess the leak circulating wasn’t true after all.

I have no leaks, but with the teasers in Mad Cool, and once Alvaro Covoes (the main promoteur) said there are bands that were expected to go in 2020/2021 and didn't make it to 2022,  are going to be on 2023, so Red Hot Chilli Peppers are almost certain to go.

They are probably waiting for Mad Cool to announce them, so they all just announce at the same time

Wouldn't be surprised if Rosalia is going to.  She just came to Portugal, by the hands of Everything is New (the guys that organize Nos Alive), and it is their modus operandis, take artists to Portugal and sign them for a solo show, and in the same year, a spot in their festival.

And Ana Moura, she just released her new album, with a different sound of her last albuns, that is more suitable for this this kind of festivals, so i would also be not surprised if she goes to Nos Alive

Without being a debbie downer, this is shaping up to be the most uninteresting lineup in years for me. Really curious as to how the other festivials' lineups will be like.

Same for me.  The only band that i have interest for now is Black Keys, and it is only because i never had the chance to see them.  The other 3 bands at this festival, were already in Portugal this year

No lineup is shaping up to be exciting so far, for me. Rock Werchter so far is a snoozer as well… Hopefully Primavera will bring the heat.

Considering Nos for 2023, 1st time.

I notice this years festival went to 4 days. Is there anything to explain why it’s going back to 3 days in 23’?

Because, with the exception of 2011 and 2022, NOS Alive was always 3 days.

The sheer amount of tours in 2022 made it reasonable to expand like NOS Alive, Mad Cool or Primavera did. Also people had extra festival cash, from the two previous years of not going. None of this applies for 2023

Rosalia is huge

Albeit she could be huge in countries like Spain or Portugal, In Nos Primavera Sound she was not a headliner and the festival did not sell out. I remember that was easy to get to the first row because there were not so much people while she was singing. In addition, Nos Alive is more oriented on english-singing performers (to attract mainly english people), so if they book her, they do not have a bigger international headliner

I agree with you. However, she was headliner in 2019, with Erykah Badu. Rosalia grew up since then. If she would fit Alive? I don't think so. But...

It’s not fair to compare 2019 to 2022. Rosalía just played two sold out arena shows in Portugal.

If she is big enough or not, headliner or not, no matters: the next edition of the festival has a higher cost of tickets, that is also the highest one in the history of the festival. If I need to pay such amount of € for a festival, I except to see bigger artists than one like Rosalia (seen at Primavera Nos with a ticket for 3 days paid only a little more than 100 €).

Tash and Angel Olsen won't set the world alight, announcement wise but it's early days yet. Black Keys are a good solid festival act, Idles always deliver a great live show. We'll get a couple of international superstar headliners and all will be well in the World. Noticed The Weeknd is playing summer shows, that would be a great addition alongside some of the rumored names (RHCP, Muse et al). In the words of The Hold Steady, Stay Positive.

Yes she is also a headliner of Opener Festival. The rest of the headliners in Opener that have a chance to be at Nos Alive too are Arctic Monkeys, Queens of the Stone Age, One Republic and for second line Nothing but Thieves

I can't believe One Republic at Alive, I think they'll be at another festival in Portugal

Out of these only AM are a sole headliner of Open'er. Lizzo is a Wednesday co-headliner, and QOTSA will probably sub AM.
