No problem using Ticketmaster app on my phone literally in within 2 minutes and got four for  Sheffield Saturday. Had TM See and G&T open in browsers and had no joy with any of them. Weird thing was I set the browser going before the mobile and TM said  28000 in the line but the mobile said 6000 and went down really quickly.

The Old Trafford Premier Inn is already full, and the other Premier Inns nearish have suddenly doubled in price...

Salford might be a wee bit cheaper and is an easy tram ride to the centre. We stayed in an Ibis budget there once, isn't glam but does the job

Anywhere in the city Center will work, but they are already expensive as Coldplay are playing on the Saturday in Manchester. 
 

sorry I need to add the city centre tram line is right next to the stadium, which is the bury/man pic to altrincham line.

There’s a travelodge in Sale that’s only a couple of tram stops from the cricket ground, used it for a couple of gigs there before and it’s quite handy. Had a check and the prices haven’t seemed to jump up too much either.

Yeah with the coldplay gig on too you might be best looking at hotels on the tram line away from town

Decided to check Airbnb, managed to get private room a 30 min walk away, towards Manchester city centre.

Transport back to town after these things is nothing short of a nightmare. Just prepare yourself for a walk and stay in the centre

The walk back to town isn’t too bad, about 20-30 mins depending on how fast you walk and how fucked you are.
