After a busy day… I’m in.
Billie does nothing for me but fuck it’s good to see a Pyramid headliner ‘live’. Moved swiftly on to Little Simz which is probably where I would be - West Holts looks great, even if not that busy. Though I’d probably equally enjoy Foals if my partner was as in to them - glad I don’t really have to worry about clashes and compromises!

The joy of Glastonbury-on-sofa!

I wonder how the BBC are going to try and big this up?

Mining half the songs.

Some of the cringiest crowd work I've seen. I know she's probably not done as much live work as she's wanted but crikey.

It also highlights a big issue with the streaming era pop she sort of belongs too. It's meant to background music, Glasto are going to have to put more effort into working out who'll be good live. Sam Fender was way better than this.

She’s clearly very popular and good at what she does, but you can’t come to Glastonbury and mime your way through half a headline set on the pyramid stage.
Think this one was maybe a year or two too soon.

Foals already better.

She isnt miming?

Sam Fender isnt anywhere near as big as Billie. He isnt int he same stratosphere...thats your problem there.

She isnt miming either. She's doing absolutely fine.

Absolutely! Other half told me to turn it down, he can fuck right off 🤣

I've stuck the headphones on so it's a bit louder through them, even though I hate wearing them.

They sound great - shame my TV i-player isn't working - the walls of my flat would be shaking now if it was! 😄

But he's a better live act which kind of be the point of a live music festival. Glasto in the 90s and 00s often booked big UK acts who were better live over bigger American pop acts.

Oh sorry not miming just  sticking her mic in the air while her vocals play. I could honestly fall asleep to this.

You realize Billie was touring 3 years straight before covid hit and had a whole u.s arena and europe tour ready to go that was sold out? She grinded  it out. She didnt have it as easy as Olivia did with barely getting one tour and then boom, big stages. She had done plenty of festivals but man for every old fucking sod that cant just let the kid do what she is doing and is fucking scared shitless about the future of music. Also, maybe thank Doja Cat for ruining her throat or else there would be endless posts about miming and such for the last 3 hours

This, so much this! Without wanting to be "it was better back in the day", this was it. Were you actually any good? not how many record or singles you had.

You cannot tell me Foals shouldn’t be headlining the pyramid stage tonight with this back catalogue, they’ve barely got started and it’s been massive.

But are Foals big enough to headline? Is the often asked question.
Yes, is the answer!

I listened to them solidly on Thursday while working (apart from when Spotify went off on its Foals radio tangent!), they've got so much material now, absolutely deserve the Pyramid!

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
