Not sure which was more of a chore to watch as a Newcastle fan - the miserable defeat by Leeds where the game plan seemed to be for them to miss all their chances, limping to a 1-1 draw against Fulham who played better even after they had an incorrect red card issued, or a dreadful reverse to a Brentford side that rested a lot of their main starters. And to think its Man City, Liverpool and Leicester next. Yeesh.

And yet somehow we're above Arsenal in the table. Which feels like it says more about them than it does about us.

If someone can convince me that Bruce has a more detailed passing plan than "pass it to Saint-Maximum or hit it against one of their players for a corner", I'll buy them a pint.

Van dijk being injured has made the season somewhat interesting. They wouldn’t have dropped points today if he’d have been playing.

But at the same time, United have been level on points with them since Bruno arrived. He’s totally transformed us. He’s been involved with over 50% of our PL goals since joining. He’s won us numerous games single handedly. Simply a top class player, it’s been too long now for it to have been a purple patch, surely?!

Still think Liverpool will run away with it but United are looking the most likely to pressure them based off current form. The game in mid January will tell a lot - expecting a heavy Liverpool win or a bore draw.

City will finish above both Liverpool and United.

I agree you will finish above united, city form needs to improve to have a sniff catching liverpool. They've only beat one top 10 side this season, that was Southampton in 9th place.

Perhaps an indication will be your next 3 games being away at Chelsea, Everton and United.

Steady on, united will have had a good season finishing top 4 at this stage of the build.

The only reason City are not top of the league is poor finishing. They should have beaten both Liverpool and United.

City have created more chances than anyone else this season, conceded the least goals, had more possession than anyone else and gave away the fewest chances. All that has been missing is someone to put the ball away. Seeing as we have arguably the greatest striker the Premier League has ever seen nearing full fitness, I would expect City to kick on.

Everyone else is running their best players into the ground, where as City are rotating the squad. We have gone about our business quietly and efficiently. We are nicely poised in every competition.

The only reason Liverpool aren't streets ahead is poor defending.

The only reason Spurs aren't top is poor finishing.

The only reason Aresenal atop is they are shite.

The only reason I'm not a professional footballer is fitness, ability and age.

    • My understanding is that the queues returning back to the UK will be much worse (up to two hours) but the queue entering Lisbon isn’t so bad. That’s just from reading a few forum posts about it though so take it with a pinch of salt!

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
