Thankfully he won’t get a job at the top level again but that would be exactly what Pulis would be doing.

The penalties this season already have been ridiculous but the issue isn't VAR, it's the rule itself.

It’s both, and the third issue is poor implementation of a shit rule by shit officials - who aren’t helped by VAR.

The truth is, you cannot make a handball rule a binary decision (because otherwise teams would look to induce handballs, or players would be allowed to handle the ball). 
 

VAR is crap for any decisions that aren’t binary. Therefore officials, whether referees or otherwise, are making a subjective decision. Which leads to inconsistency. Which is no improvement to life before VAR and actually is a change for the worse due to the long delays it causes.
