That year (2015?) on the Friday night - me and my mate went to the SE Corner. At about 4am someone sat next to us and was talking to us for ages. He said he was called Mark. He pulled out a massive wad of cash & asked us if we wanted a drink. We said ok & he came back with a bottle of champagne, 3 glasses and said we didnt owe him anything. (Tbf I bet he pulled out a grand from his pocket, he didnt need it).

Afterwards he told us he was staying offsite. We went back to the tent.

I convinced my mate that it was Mark Ronson. He tells everyone that Mark Ronson bought us a bottle of champagne at glastonbury.

It's his claim to fame.

It wasnt.

Not sure who he was, but he was sound.

Maybe it was Marky Mark.  Or Mark Hughes.

Chinese Lanterns were still a thing in 2009.

1st year we went in 2010 I remember sitting up near the Glastobury sign early hours and someone let off one those things - flaming oil was dripping everywhere and then it bashed into the sign, I've never seen so many people sprint over to make sure it didn't set the whole sign alight!! It was a funny and dangerous at the same time, very glad they are banned now tbh

Yeah I feel the same about Dave, I rate him as an artist but live he doesn't do it for me. I think people touting him as a future headliner are way off tbh

Dua Lipa had that same criticism early on that she wasnt a good dancer or having a good presence. They can work on it and prove everyone wrong eventually. Ed Sheeran stands at a mic with a guitar and A looping pedalboard and he is allowed to headline? 🤨

The final live Glastonbury stream. Blur headlining in 2009. This is in my top three favourite Glastonbury performances of all time. I'm so glad I was there.. It was high energy, emotional and so much fun. I will never forget it...

Ditto for flares.

More than once have I had to give it a, "watch it", to some oblivious random who's forgot they are carrying one at head/eyeball gouging height as they are deep in conversation with their mates.

So then, they wake up a bit, lift the flare, and molten wax goes down the back of the collars of half a dozen bystanders.

Plus they stink.

In fairness Ed Sheeran is also arguably the biggest artist in the world, so he had that going for him too. It's not the soul reason I think Dave wouldn't headline...like I said I'm a fan of his, but he just doesn't strike me as someone they'll go for (If his stock even continues to rise)

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
