Headliner Song Bracket

CG31

Recommended Posts

I’ve taken every artist since 2010 and their top song on Spotify, randomised it and put it into a bracket.

Every morning I’ll give you a tie, two songs head to head, the one that receives the most votes in 24 hours wins and progresses.

Could I please encourage you to listen to every song that comes up (although I think most will be known😂😂) just for the pure fact that you could find your new favourite song!!

I couldn’t find a template that I can attach here, but as we progress I will be able to screenshot the app I am using.

See you tomorrow morning for the first tie, one that I can see going either way.

Anything from Sigh No More would have won though because that album bangs.

I agree, but I Will Wait has the most listens, if I chose the songs many would be different

Probably chosen Little Lion Man tbh

Not a fan of either but in a festival setting I think I will wait would be okay so I Will Wait for me!

Can confirm as someone who isn’t a Mumford fan at all, I went APE just because I got 2 free ticket and songs like I Will Wait were great singalongs even for a non fan haha

Not to throw a spanner in the works or anything but I think Big For Your Boots is actually Stormzy’s 4th biggest song on Spotify haha.

Vossi Bop- 170 Million

Own It- 141 Million

Shut Up- 121 Million

Big For Your Boots- 96 Million

    • I see, well even if they aren't on sale it's still not a disaster sales wise, it's not like they are struggling to sell a half capacity areana
    • Blue dot wouldn’t be a thing if Ticketmasters dynamic pricing went down as well as up, it proves that the dynamic pricing was just a scam to make more money rather than something that moved with the market supply/demand.
    • I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.
    • MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.
    • Ultimately Glasto is just part of the festival circuit, however special we may think it is. The vast majority of its headliners have done many others
