Look that ridiculous piece at the bottom by William Hague. What does that even mean ‘Biden must make the case for freedom’, who’s making the case against it!? William Hague is a twerp.

In fairness, Hague wouldn't have written the headline. In fact I doubt he even said that.

It's just crap Daily Telegraph clickbait journalism from a paper that has delusions of grandeur but is little better than The Daily Mail these days.

ps he still is a twerp

Fair point about the headline.

Imagine looking at William Hague and thinking ‘yeah he can bring us back into government’. Fools.

And yet, by comparison to Patel, Hancock, Raab and Williamson, he's a political behemoth.

He also said "in a time of great economic and security challenges for the world, so we want to leave. And if after (Brexit) the UK disintegrates, what will we have achieved by leaving?  And Scottish nationalists will say to the people of Scotland - if you want to stay in the EU, the way to do that is to leave the UK"

This was in January 2016...

That statement alone shows more foresight than Johnson has ever offered in his entire life.

As someone on the FT comments puts it:

- £1,000+ day rates for useless Track & Trace consultants

- Billions on Brexit

- Fortunes misspent on PPE contracts for chums

But nothing for hungry children. And as for those who need benefits, the safety net is not there.

Welcome to Global Britain in 2021...

Full thread worth reading - realisation about tiers 3 and 4 being needed throughout april and may is a notable part...

Two thoughts.

"Whitty is backed by Matt Hancock and other Cabinet 'doves'. One source close to the PM said Whitty “is being a bit wet” as tens millions of vaccinations will have cut the fatality risk a lot by then"

1. Whitty is being "a bit wet" in managing a huge pandemic? We're being run by fucking children.

2. Johnson will now invariably unnecessarily over-promise on Easter. Never fucking learns.

Sorry for being a bit sweary.

They'll need to extend furlough again until the end of May if its THAT long for tier 3/4

Obviously we will see how the vaccines effect deaths/hospitalisations.  But if we have millions of people with a jab and deaths haven't gone down massively, that would be a massive disappointment.

The Telegraph really is terrible these days. Though they’re not wrong on that headline. And the Mental Health report is extremely worrying.

A better version here

There’s been plenty of people on here telling you they’ll be restrictions in place after Easter, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to you.

Speaking of which, this is the most blatant misrepresentation (nice word for a lie) of what Starmer said, that the Tories are now pumping out in their own inimitable toxic manner.

How do they sleep at night indeed...

The thing is though that they’ll get away with it. They are already getting away with everything else.

They never learn their lesson at all, how many times have we opened up too early and been right back at square one. Are they really this inept or do they know that whatever happens they’ll get away with it so will just do whatever they want.

Also the CMO is wet? Maybe the CMO is trying to do his job in the middle of a pandemic. This cabinet really are worthless. But don’t worry they’ve handled the vaccination program well so we can forget all of this 😔

Scotland get 8.2% of GB allocation on a fixed formula.

This is the Scots Govt vaccination plan that was released then withdrawn quickly because of 'commercial sensitivities'.

Extrapolate UK figures based on the Jock 8.2%.

Pfizer factory upgrades and supply limitations widely reported, J&J manufacturing challenges reported last week.

The AZ zero issue was reported then went very quiet - looks like they want to get to the mid Feb date then cough to supply issues, although they have started to mention this increasingly in the past few days, probably to control the messaging.

oh look, it's different to what you said.

Did you read my original post?

Pfizer deliveries down by a third at end of month for at least two weeks, and wildly varied AZ deliveries including two weeks with zero/nada/noting/zilch deliveries. They might now, but that will change.

and then you said ...

Not negativity, just a bit of realism rather than government spin maybe? This is all in the context of the festival or festivals in general going ahead, or when that might be possible.

It's all about the timing for me and these figures are key.

lol.

Not negativity. Either very poor attention to detail or outright deliberate bollocks.

My friend works at a hospital in Devon. I'm not sure exactly what his role is but it's associated with surgery. He received his first jab around two weeks ago and was told the second would follow on January 21st. He was informed yesterday that the second jab would now be administered in three months time. How does that work?

They’ve decided to delay everyone’s second dose in favour of getting as many people vaccinated as quickly as possible (one dose gives you protection, the second one is just a booster to give longer term immunity)

Only two weeks into this lockdown and it feels as if it’s been at least five. Just me?

It’s a tough one, isn’t it? Struggling with not being able to see family but making the most of wfh before that all changes - and it clearly will once these Tories decide to ‘open the economy’ fully. There will be the same mistakes as last year in that area.
