Interestingly, jab 2 was also booked for the following Sunday. He’s not in any special cohort, just his turn for his age. 

Thought it strange that he’ll have his jab 2 before millions of other people who had jab 1 before him!

That's true. But not seen anything science based (unless you can point me in the right direction) to suggest that C19 will be anything but a potential danger re variants while it is widespread throughout the UK and the rest of the world. Once a measure of control is in place then we'll be grand.

A 1 week gap between jabs? not sure thats... a good idea

Very much doubt that at all. There might be testing/self isolation at home but not hotel quarantine for that long a period.

Yeah you might wanna ask someone about that. The gap is 12 weeks for a reason.

Agreed, my mum (66 yrs old) is having jab 1 tomorrow and jab 2 is booked for the 12th of May.

Doubt that too, at least for Europe. Holiday destinations like Greece or Spain are already pushing the EU for testing and/or vaccination passports/certificates before summer holidays. The Scandinavian countries are already planning digital solutions and also countries like Estonia or Poland are thinking in this direction. And not only for traveling, also for other things like Festivals.

See Flu chart above (I know covid isn't Flu i'm using it as an example), cases in 2019/20 spiked at the end of the year and then declined, 2018/19 season started later but followed the same pattern.

For oxford, the gap of 12 weeks is where it is most efficacious. No matter what one he is getting though 1 week gap isn't correct.

But you can still compare vaccinated people to un-vaccinated people and see the difference. Both groups should be living under the same conditions.

It could potentially be that but then I suppose they won’t know unless they start to reopen areas. If Johnson is going to take the data presented to him in the next 2 days and go from there then fine, they always said it would be based on the most up to date data they had available.
