They’re corrupt, incompetent, arrogant and only in it for themselves but surely that is a step too far?

I wouldn’t put anything past them. Don’t forget their total inability to predict the consequences of their actions.

Iraq war would suggest otherwise! Quite a big whoopsie!

I dunno. The devious attempt to coerce the Country into it was very competently executed. And he was still able to win another decent majority off the back of his collected works.

Though I realise I’ve also posted the Private Eye article on Foot and Mouth when he doesn’t come off amazingly well either 😃

It doesn't though, does it? Not with Labour on side. Starmer has more votes than Mark Francois.

Thing is - Boris knows that having to rely on opposition votes to get something through parliament (especially something this important) will only cost him in the medium and long term.

Knowingly heading into disaster and delaying our recovery.

I can see why people turn to alcohol now.

I’d be shocked if everywhere was tier 4 next week, I also think they’ll only refer to it in that way instead of saying it’s a lockdown so they can keep their ‘no more lockdowns’ pledge

Two Prime Ministers have gone because of Brexit. Some abstract notion of the medium or long term doesn't factor in. I think you may be underestimating the long term thinking capabilities of the man who said it would be inhuman to change the Christmas rules four days before changing the Christmas rules.

Right now, what the ERG says is irrelevant.

UK government to ban travel from South Africa after new variant found

The UK government has implemented a travel ban on passengers arriving from South Africa after two cases of another new strain of Covid-19 was found in the UK, PA reports. Starting from 9 am on Christmas Eve, visitors arriving in England who have been in or transited through South Africa in the past 10 days will not be permitted entry, and direct flights will be banned, the Department for Transport said.
