Was at Bestival when he headlined, sooooooo much fun

And he seemed to enjoy himself as well. Definitely the set of the weekend for me

I'm telling myself that he's saving Glasto for 2021 when his farewell tour is wrapped up and can properly enjoy himself, rather than be in the middle of an exhausting tour.

could we see a return of Arctic Monkeys to the farm next year, hasn't it be rumored their back in the studio?

Yep, definitely a strong possibility this far in advance.

  • 2 weeks later...
  • The 1975
  • Arctic Monkeys
  • Madge

Think the 1975 are locked in and if the Monkeys get another album out this year/early next then they seem an obvious fit to return...

Number three I'm not sure on - George Ezra and FM will do it when they're next active I'm sure, but I suspect that'll be 22 and if they've booked two lots of white lads with guitars I imagine there'll be someone different for the third. For that reason I'm guessing that they'll finally land Madge who will have made the big bucks touring this year and want the big televised extravaganza.

Madonna has been cancelling shows recently for a persisting injury. I reckon once this tour is wrapped up she will go quiet again.

I agree with 1975 and Arctic Monkeys. I also agree that the third needs to be something really different to stop it looking like a Reading and Leeds trio.

Consider this:

1. Reg would be a dream headliner for me.
2. I'm not going next year
3. Life tends to find a way to rub my nose in it

Ergo, we have our third 2021 headliner.

This is confirmation enough for me.

My friend who usually comes with me cant go this year and literally all her must sees are going to show up this year, with her #1 being Kendrick.

He used to play a lot in Surrey a few years ago. I believe Brooklands (Mercedes Benz World), Sandown & Epsom. Full of oldies paying over the top & all sat down, very much the picnic crowd types at Glasto.

I hope he does play as he’ll get a huge crowd, it’ll be fun a bit like Lionel.

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
