Seems they are starting again in 2020. Spotted recording with Brian Johnson and Phil Rudd again in Vancouver,

most of them are british born,  so i think they have a closeness to the Festival.

Would be a fablous opportunity for a Comeback.

Saw  them at Hampden Park , Glasgow, they were absolutely terrific. Can’t see the cannons wanting to be fired anywhere but the pyramid. What a rock slot they would be, but that’s is incredibly unlikely.  Shame,  if you want blood is one of my favourite live albums along with deep purple, made in Japan!

Interesting to see BJ is back considering they dropped him like a hot rock when he had his ear problems. Obviously wasn’t as acrimonious as the press lead people to believe.

Interesting article about this issue, answers some questions:

Had they wanted to play  Glastonbury they would have done it already !

They have been asked about it before and the reply was not complimentary about the Glasto audience .

I remember that and i do sort of think they were put on the spot , but BJ's comments were  hardly encouraging.

And obviously Mr Eavis did not ask , cos it did not happen

Metallica ( well Lars ) and Foo's wanted to play Glasto and made sure it could happen - DC nah !

You're fucking kidding me.

There will be no Glastonbury.

No tour.

Likely no album.

You may get a couple of tracks on a celebratory release. That's it.

Put. This. To. Rest.

It makes me sad. Sorry to shout.

There he is, you're running slow tonight mate

I read it, passed out, woke up, trashed the house, drank a bottle of whisky, went out, found a few kittens to kick, trashed the house again, read the OP to check I hadn't got it wrong, had a cup of tea, then posted.

They don’t need Glastonbury for one second to bolster ticket sales and album sales. When there stadium shows go on sale they sell out in hours ! That’s why they’ve sold over 200 million albums and are one of the biggest bands of all time.

    • Tickets on sale when I'm abroad (I'm assuming this sells out in minutes), and the actual dates could not be worse for me work-wise. Still going to try to get tickets, of course, but god damn!
    • I'm personally confident that Slipknot will be one of the headliners next year (no insider info just lines up with them likely releasing an album soon)    Then there's the headliner that's never played the festival before which the bookers have alluded to so that's one of Blink, Foos, NIN, Nickelback and possibly Pearl Jam or even Bon Jovi    The third band I also think will be a new headliner who are being bumped up so Deftones, Offspring, Paramore Etc.    I'd love Slipknot, Foos and Paramore but realistically i'd go with Slipknot, Blink and Deftones
    • Loads of people have to listen to music they don't like all day, while at work!   Not much different.
    • Generally shorter too, I imagine. 🙂
    • Will that work for arenas with seats? People will have their tickets on their phones and needs to find their seat.
