They’re playing for 3 and a quarter hours?! Fuck I wish I’d gotten tickets to this.

If they play Siamese Dream twice and a third of Mellon Collie, that'd be the perfect Smashing Pumpkins set IMO.

To be fair, the last time I saw them was at Glastonbury and it was a classic example of Corgan being Corgan.  Hopefully with the majority of the orginal lineup it may temper him a little bit.

Anyone else going to the Wembley gig? Just received this:

6:00pm: Doors
6:45 - 7:20pm: Support
7:45 - 11:00pm: The Smashing Pumpkins

Excited doesn't cover it.

Bah gawd. The support act is Myrkur and then you get three hours of Papa Blumpkin and the boys. I think you might have underpaid your entry.

I wanted to revive that old chestnut, Nick Cave vs Smashing Pumpkins from the run-up to 2013, but sadly it's been archived... are these a possibility for a return do we think? I'd love to see them in October, Corgan's general knobbishness aside, but the tickets are insanely expensive and it's Wembley and it's midweek...

Nick Cave vs Pumpkins mark 2 in 2019? Would be quite something. OR Pumpkins subbing to Cave. Now we're talking.

That was probably the most awkward clash I've had there, went to Pumpkins.. Either or both would be great. I love Pumpkins but didn't even entertain the idea of that Wembley gig for the reasons you say. Their sets have been brilliant...

Where could they slot in if they show up again? Could they do the 3rd down "rock slot" on Friday Pyramid? Or would they demand a higher slot than that? It would be nice to tick them off after all these years of missing out.

I doubt they’ll ever play again tbh - judging by the prices and size of the venues for the current tour they/Billy sees them as a headliner  sized act so I doubt they’d accept anything less right now, and I’m sure the festival isn’t too fussed about having them back what with them having played in 2013.

Last night was incredible, but I think I've changed my mind on them doing festivals. You should see them at their our own show for 3 hours, not 45 mins greatest hits set at a festival. I guess if somewhere let them play for 1hr 30 mins it could be somewhat near what we had last night.

This would make me seriously happy. There would be something really novel about seeing them on the Pyramid late afternoon. That would be cool.

It wouldn't really stun me if they outright headlined the Other against Stormzy. It would be the right kind of act to go up against him. A 90 headline set would go down a storm on the Other given their current setlists. Although I wouldn't complain if they've booked someone like NIN to headline that stage and Pumpkins sub.

Pumpkins third down Pyramid on the Friday would be cool but on the other hand I was happy they got announced to sub Tool as it makes a day ticket there much more appealing. I guess playing late on at Glasto makes em prime for a big fat clash, though.

A top 4 of Stormzy / Liam Gallagher / Smashing Pumpkins / Beach Boys would be strong whilst also having Stormzy being given the bump up. Good mix.

Headlining Other would be a great alternative but even with a 90 minute set I've still got serious envy for the marathon gigs so I'll take an hour slot and a gig later in the year or something. Plus I've seen Pumpkins do almost 90 mins on the Other already.

Damn this would be my perfect antidote to lack of interest in stormzy, saw them on other (2013 wasn't it?) Would love to see them higher up.
