The 1975 are gonna have another new record out this year though, aren't they?! Tbh I'm with @Hugh Jass, if a band is available and want the gig, they'll get booked. There isn't an endless pool of headliners to pick from and half of the pool is always inactive so...

More than entitled to your opinion but I think it'll be wrong.

Name me another headliner that has headlined R&L then headlined Glastonbury the following year?, Muse are the only act nearly to have done another UK festival on the 2nd year of the album and that's probably only because it was Download and not such as issue.

?????? What's the difference

The big anniversary line ups...
10th - There wasn't a festival ?
20th - The Cure; Happy Mondays; Sinead O'Connor
30th - Bowie; Travis; Chemical Brothers
40th - Gorrillaz (replacing U2), Muse, Stevie Wonder.

I may be wrong but the only ones they made a big deal about were the 25th anniversary one in '95 (which was really the year where Glastonbury stepped up in terms of 'wow' game after the previous year's tv coverage....1995 was first year of US radio stations broadcasting it) and the 40th in 2010

To be honest though, 25th and 50th are a big deal, 40th they made a thing about but 20th and 30th aren't really a major deal. You don't go big on your 20th and 30th birthday like you would on your 25th or 50th, you'd go bigger on your 21st.

Hope you had a great time for your birthday, which headliner did you watch (presuming it was Friday, Saturday, Sunday)?

AT risk of getting slated Coldplay , New order and Disclosure .... although my birthday was on the Thursday before the music started properly which was the best day to have it :)

    • I agree the prices are tough for locals. You can see if Porto timetable is the type that works for you and it's a terrific city. Also cheaper. https://www.primaverasound.com/es/porto/lineup-porto
    • thanks XXialac! i guess for us the most important aspect will be a festival that starts very late in the day, specially in these southern countries were it can be really hot! The combination of visiting a new city, having good lunches and enjoying a festival is a absolute must for us. Also, we like headliners but the undercard is just as important; truly enjoyed Men I trust, NewDad, Big Thief this year so from that angle it is not really a big thing if a festival is somewhat smaller.    Apparently my bad, i had 5 in my system but 0.5 (10%) increase is still huge. I am not sure how teenagers can afford these prices............
    • That second part was how I felt about Rock IM Park this year trying first. I found that when it gets to like the 3rd act on the main stage down, you've gotta make a choice to miss anything leading up might not enjoy and it's sometimes while closer for not a great view as everyone in turn has to make the call too. Being short doesn't help as I'd just be able be further bacm but still see.
    • I wasn’t slagging Scooter off, they are undeniably silly. As I said, they are the definition of a meme booking for Download. People requested them for years because it was silly.
