Mate you just said you're starting to think it's Arctic Monkeys, who have less Summer dates than The Killers.

erm i think you will find AMs are touring overseas until April so they are active next year......

Killers only doing 1 date in Texas

They're the worst band I've ever seen live also. Didnt even do an encore (and it wasn't a festival). They seemed like real dicks on stage.

Not doing an encore is commendable in even the greatest acts, so surely it's even more welcome in an act the quality of KoL?

what does touring in the summer have to do with it unless they have cut out dates specifically for Glasto?

??? Artists tend to do more than one date when they start up their touring machine. If an act has dates in the Summer they're much more likely to do Glastonbury than rehearsing and starting up their touring machine including all the staff required just to do one show.

Sure, there's a chance it could be Arctic Monkeys, but I have no idea what makes you think it's likely when almost everything points to it not happening.

We all get that you hate AMs ;)

And your point on touring machines, it applies to all acts not just headliners - so it's bs and we've seen it proved wrong in the past

If arctics are doing a UK 'iconic festival' in June, where is it if it's not Glasto?

It was never said to be UK, and was also said to not be Glastonbury. Most common take was that it was Bonnaroo, and the most recent rumour was that they pulled their June US dates.

Eh I like Arctic Monkeys lol.

What? I know it applies to non-headliner, where did I say otherwise? And yes I know it sometimes happens, hence why I said it could still be Arctic Monkeys. I just don't understand why you think they're likely yet told someone else The Killers are unlikely because they're not touring.

Edit: To add to this, if Arctic Monkeys were doing Glasto do you not think they'd be likely to do some other festivals around it that they didn't hit up last year? Like Benicassim?

When we say they're touring in the context of playing Glastonbury, it means touring this summer. As far as all of us know, as well as those much more in-the-know than us, Arctic Monkeys have no plans to tour this summer.

perhaps, but their touring last year seemed more selective than bands of their size tend to do, and I'd say they're probably the band more likely to do a one-off for Glasto than other bands.

(that's not me saying I think they are, just that it's not impossible).

    • Based on previous times that rules quite a lot out of early summer festivals into the August runs.
    • No dramas man, I just like to follow others journeys as well. Get the inspiration, give out inspiration and the outdoors is the clear the head place to do it. I'm heading out for a easy trail run today I think, 10k- 10 mile we'll see how we go. I've got a half marathon in October I'm well unprepared for hahs
    • The Cheap Thrills at Mountford Hall, Liverpool.    They've been around for a while and have built up a large local following. Last night was their biggest yet, at a sold out 2,200 capacity venue.    It was a big old joyous, indie singalong from start to finish, the band clearly having the time of their lives. The debut album is out next month and they seem to be going down well on the festival circuit, maybe their time has finally come.   2 supports, I unfortunately missed Credits but the few songs they have on Spotify sound good, Americana vibes. The other was M60, reportedly Gary Neville's favourite band. If that's true, he's as clueless about music as he is football. To be fair, their sound was poor, maybe with a clearer sound they'd have been better but it was pretty dull.
    • I can see them all merging along with the Tory’s . Restore curently couldn’t muster enough candidates to be a viable option . I lasted 4 mins and couldn’t watch any more . Lowe is just dull along with racist
