Catching up. So if Pink headlines RW, that means someone on another forum who predicted that correctly could also be right in predicting King Kendrick for Glasto, amirite?

He’s predicting him for RW which put him firmly in the frame for Glastonbury as they have moved the festival for an act.

Which is is what they did before for someone playing both festivals I think.

Hmm. Well they’ve got Mumford & Sons headlining on Saturday which would put Kendrick in play on either Friday or Sunday.

It’s hard to imagine Macca playing anything but the Sunday, which would place Kendrick on Friday for Glasto.

So we’d be looking at:

Kendrick Lamar / The Cure / Paul McCartney

That would be a strong line up (although I’d be elsewhere on Saturday night).

Saturday is a great night to find something else to do.

I would be stoked if we ended up with this.

So why were Kung Fu's summer shows so bad?  Too short and he phoned them in?

I did feel a bit short changed with the set length, aye. It was Bellahouston I was at, folk I was there were saw him at the Hydro previously and he was much better in that setting.

I'm a big fan and on paper it's a great booking but I would be concerned about the Kung Fu King's ability to pull off a headline slot and all that's required to go with it.

So RW will be:

Fri - Cure / Sat - Mumford / Sun - Kendrick

Glastonbury:

Fri - Kendrick / Sat - Cure / Sun - Macca (I can’t see Macca doing Sat night)

Or Cure don’t play at all and Kendrick moves to Sat with 1975 on Friday?

just putting it out there that The Cure, Pink, Mumford and Kendrick would look very weak. not very rock for werchter if you like

I'd be happy with that.

I'd be at the Pyramid on Sunday. Maybe Friday (probably not though). Saturday I'd definitely be elsewhere.

Haven't the foggiest about Kendrick, so frees Fri night up for me, apart from muse 2016 I seem to always look elsewhere on a Fri.

Another thing I’ve started thinking about Macca is that the Arroyo Seco weekend is probably due to be Glasto weekend, which is kind of an oldies’ fest in Pasadena run booked by the guy who books Coachella and one-time Desert Trip. It might not be Glastonbury weekend but I think there’s a strong likelihood of Macca there bc of the Phoenix date.

That actually makes a lot of sense looking at his dates and last years lineup. Probably more sense for him to have a couple of days off and play in California than fly over for Glastonbury.

I’m with you on this.

Great overnight developments after yesterday’s 10 page AM take down. Excellent sleuthing by @Gucci Piggy on the RW thread

    • Absolutely love her record, System. Definitely an album that rewards a bit of commitment.   She's right on my must-see list. Hoping she's in the Walled Garden, as I think her sound might be a bit muddy if she's early-ish in Far Out.   Ben
    • Same here, I kept trying to go on A View From My Seat to see if each block was worth it. So vague!
    • Ok, I’ve had time to process the experience now, so here is my review.   The good Barcelona - what a beautiful place! What lovely people! The city was like another headliner. Stayed in El Poblenou, and the bars, cafes and restaurants were perfect. Avalanches - Absolutely spectacular, euphoric set. Fantastic stage. Possibly enhanced by substances that I timed right, for a change. Added bonus that I don’t really remember the queue. The Cure - I’ve been a fan for 34 years, and never got round to seeing them, so this was a dream come true. The XX - The sound was exceptional. The lights and setlist perfect, giving each member their moment. Was really loud where I was standing (between the front and the sound desk), but i didn’t notice any chatters - even during the quieter moments. Also loved Men I Trust, .bd. , Big Thief, NewDad and Gorillaz. The food within Parc Del Fòrum was also a lot better than I was expecting.   The bad People talking non-stop throughout some of the sets, and shouting to be heard over the music. I had to move 3 times during Wet Leg just to be able to hear the band over the crowd. It’s probably an age thing, but I just don’t understand it. You’ve paid how much to watch these acts, and now you’re standing with your back to the stage, missing the music and ruining the experience for everyone else? Odd behaviour.   The weather apocalypse on Thursday. I genuinely thought I would be able to tough it out. I couldn’t. Left after Geese. The lack of communication from Primavera didn’t help.   Whilst it was lovely to be by the sea, and the sunsets were very pretty, the site is a bit…concrete-y, isn’t it? I kind of longed for some grass and trees. Often found ourselves standing on the steps by the Adidas yard by some bamboo. This was probably a subconscious need for some nature. The fact that some of the nature included cockroaches did not negatively affect the experience.   My daughter, for running away when she saw the drug dogs in the queue on Thursday, meaning that I lost her for the whole evening. She hid her stash under a bench, and it miraculously survived the storms.   Also, can someone explain the point in having a wristband, when you still have to show your ticket every time you enter and leave the site?   Finally, I would like to nominate myself as one of the bad things about this year’s Primabera. I should have done Primavera a lot better. It was my first one, so I’m still learning, but I think I left too early on the Thursday. Left after the Cure on Friday, so I would be full of energy on Saturday, and then barely made it to the end of Gorillaz anyway, meaning I missed Overmono, Skrillex, Skullcrusher, Kneecap, and a few more I would have liked to see.   All in all Amazing lineup. Decent food options. Cupra and Cupra Pulse stages were very impressive. Weather was perfect for 3 out of the 4 days i attended.   It was always likely to be a ‘one and done’ for me, but we had a blast, even if I am starting to get too old for all this.
    • That Wednesday Razzmatazz slot is one of the best/prime slots!
    • If they fancy chucking something together last knockings, i'm up for it! 😄 Got to get a cat sitter, but i'm 95% there
