crocodiles
Suggs was main guest wasn't a repeat I'm assuming they just hadn't done research properly not unusual for a lot of tv programme
Mardy
I thought Madness were pretty poor this year. That AC/DC thng was er... misjudged. The bowie cover was pretty dire. They looked like they were going through the motions throughout the set. 4/
Badlands
I didn't mind their version of Kooks, it suited their style of music. Certainly better than Alex Turners cover.
ClementsMike
I find the 'nutty boys' schtick a little tiresome from middle aged Madness now, along with the crowds of old men wearing fez hats in the audience. The Specials need to knock it off now as they descend into a band of session musicians. In fact, they are both heading into the territory of The Beat and The Selecter where they end up playing joint gigs in small town halls for overweight old skinheads. Its not a cool look. So lumping them in together seems totally reasonable. When was this? Sounds amazing! Never heard of it before.

ConorC
Had a laugh watching them this year, thought they were decent value for a singalong. Remember their crowd being absolutely massive as well, correct me if I'm wrong? Do I need to see them again next year? No.

Ummmmmm I would guess about 2007 but aptly my ability to distinguish between years that far back is a bit lost and vague. It was bloody brilliant though edit - this vid suggests it was 2007 although no sign of the specials (only watched a few seconds of it) but I'm sure it happened! That video is from Madness playing in The Ballroom at Lost Vagueness - I was there and am certain that it was just Madness that night. If a crossover happened, then 2009 would have been the only likely year as both bands were on the lineup.

Well there is every chance that the Brothers bar and friends caused me to hallucinate but I'm sure there's a scrap of truth in it somewhere. I will keep thinking! Pinhead
Yes, it was 2007 at The Ballroom (was there) - the last year of Lost Vagueness.
CaledonianGonzo
Unless the interwebs are wrong The Specials now seem to consist of spare parts of The Libertines and Ocean Colour Scene. The Specials for these shows will consist of just Lynval & Terry. edit: of the originals, I mean. There'll probably be others on stage with them. CaledonianGonzo
Ah, right. Just seen the news story. Possible West Holts headliners?

Think there are a few older bands out there propped up with bits of OCS. They need something to do when Weller's not touring.
Badlands
Current Specials lineup would be a weak WH headliner for me.

Is it a collaboration or are they just on the same bill? I'd read it that they were just touring together.
CaledonianGonzo
Dunno. Realistically even a "collaboration" would probably still be two separate sets and then a few songs together at the end. It's obviously not nailed on, but I dont think it would be the weirdest thing in the world either.
