I'm assuming that's from their gig last night?

Might drag me away from FF that. Where did you hear this?

Someone at the Birmingham gig met the band after, and was told. I don't know him personally, so it could be a wind up, but it seems genuine.

Had totally gone off the idea of them headlining the Park after pitching it for ages due to the new album not making much of an impact at all, but there you go! One less clash for me to worry about for sure - I like them enough but don't want to end one of my nights with them.

If true, there's me missing Foo Fighters.

Certainly decision time for me. Said FF would be the act I'd watch with our whole group but Warpaint on the Park would be awesome! Haven't seen them in an intimate setting for quite a while.

Me too. They're gonna end up clashing with the Lips aren't they. Or worse still, bunged halfway down on the Other stage.

Sunday night is gonna be The Cinematic Orchestra I reckon, so you'll probably be alright with the Lips (Park will probs finish early anyway). Its Friday & Radiohead I'm worried about now

I can see that too. Anyone know how their recent(ish) gigs have been? They still got the chops?

Saw them 2 (?) years back doing the Psychocandy show.

I enjoyed it, but they've never been the most dynamic live act - they rely more on shades-wearing moodiness and dry ice than they do on running around.  Personally I enjoy a more mixed setlist than a full album show, so this gig will be better.

They'd maybe have been my pick to see at the 6Music fest tomorrow night at the Barras, but I was outvoted by the ticket-buyer while I was pulling out the stops for the Sunday.

FWIW I've seen them play outside in the daylight before, so it's not impossible that that comes to pass.  They just tend to turn the dry ice machines up to max so you can only really see are indistinct shadows on the stage.  It could have been anyone up there.

RTJ West Holts Sunday headliner would be ideal thankyou very much. They would be able to squeeze out all the remaining energy I have left.

Radiohead, Jacksons, RTJ

Although Justice in the mix would make for some headaches

Reckon JaMC will be playing to a fairly empty field if they put them up against the 'head. Must be a massive crossover and seeing as most Radiohead fans are obsessed, they aren't gonna be anywhere else.

Yeah that's a fair point.

JPT is potentially a good shout. I mean looking at the lineups last couple of years they could get away with subbing Park - same slot as Savages/Mercury Rev/Spiritualized so wouldn't look out of place.

They probably haven't even been booked now :P

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
