The last time this happened I'm sure dental produced various posters of European festivals with Lorde about a third of the way down. I would have said Pyramid too but don't see her playing Saturday and just based on her position on the poster I reckon a high Other slot now. I also get the feeling she'd rather play later on when it's a bit darker but I have nothing to back that up.

I think we have to remember we have more to come which could easily fit in above the line that Lorde is on.

I guess but I'm not expecting anyone bigger than Lorde to be announced. I know you're still slightly hoping for Gaga and think Van Morrison will be announced and while we can't rule out the latter I'm not really expecting him anymore, feel like all the big slots are already taken.

Aye we may be lucky and get a big-ish fourth down act added like Burt Bacharach in '15 but overall I think that's it for the bigger acts regardless of what Emily has said.

Has it been confirmed that Kris Kristofferson will actually be on the Pyramid?  Seems a bit weak to me.  I know he was one of the first confirmations, but how specific was it - seems like he'd be more at home on Acoustic, unless I'm massively misreading his popularity.

The story's in the URL ;)

Yeah, the story says 'his website', then his website's tour dates just say 'G festival' - must dig through his page a bit deeper.

Edit: Nope - not seeing it.  His website says he's at the festival, but no associated stories on the site, or mention of pyramid stage.  Has Somerset Live made an assumption that we're all following, or was there something more substantial that's now been removed?

She's a pyramid act through and through, perfect for BBC coverage getting her infront of a fat off crowd blasting her new single that will probably be used for the coverage

Also she's an international act coming over for the festival, and playing no other UK festival slots. It's gonna be something worthwhile

In my mind she's bang on for 3rd down pyramid saturday

I agree with this. Infact as soon as I saw her on the poster my immediate thoughts were "3rd down Pyramid, Sunday"

Everywhere's reporting it. Takes seconds to google it

I am but I don't think realistically there is anything that will stop the subs and Other toppers now, Katy and Biffy are big gets but it wasn't hard at all to get a ticket for Biffy on the recent arena tour, a mate of mien swapped seating for standing on the night in Birmingham. They may be headlining Download but they are the pull as a headliner they were a couple of years back.

Van I'm not arsed about.

I can only presume Laura Marling third top in JP is a mistake in Dentals

There's a number of things I disagree with but can't prove otherwise, that being one of them.

I don't think Elbow will be there at all.

I think The Flaming Lips are too low.

Katy Perry into Ed, not Foos.

Biff subbing Foos, National against Ed, xx subbing Radiohead.

Anderson .Paak too low.

Shaggy slot is a safety hazard as if he's on a big stage early on, every man and his dog's gonna go. I think he'll be Pyramid or Sonic.

There's a lot that I do agree with, however, and I could not be arsed spending the time to make such a thorough prediction, which is what this forum needs the likes of @dentalplan and @Will-2609 for.

Because the national aren't international, relevant popstars

sorry

Lorde and the National are completely different acts

...

I mean

THEY AINT FRIENDS WITH TAYLOR SWIFT

Ellie Goulding, friend of Taylor Swift, 'international/current/relevant pop star', had 5 platinum records (300k sales each) when she subbed Massive Attack on the Other Stage

Lorde, friend of Taylor Swift, 'international/current/relevant pop star', has 1 gold record (100k sales) and she is too big to be on the Other Stage and deserves the slot Ellie Goulding came back to after a couple more massive hits and another platinum album.

    • You do get some weird swings here and there, so... Cypress Hill?
    • It was great, but I don't know why they continue to play Wide Lovely Eyes and Rings of Saturn, which are the weakest of the tracks off both PTSA and ST. Well, I do. It's cos they're about Suzie, so he can sing what he wants. They're the low points of the set. The rest is ace.
    • I didn't this time, but I've seen them before and just because you saw both that night doesn’t mean you can compare them. The Stones were great, but.you didn't think so and you went somewhere else looking for a good time and you found it. For whatever reason you didn't like it, but you were an outlier and all the reviews said they were great.
    • Annie Lennox could be the one to unite the whole forum, nobody has a bad word to say about her, even noted curmudgeon Skip 😄 I'd probably even amble along for a bit meself, and i'm also a miserable sod
    • If the below link works - thats interesting.   While I don't particularly put much stock in that account as a source (never seen it before though, tbf), and I can pick a hole or two (see below) in what he says - the timing of it is a week before I had the Fontaines '27 stadium info (same stadium he says on there, Tottenham). The info, or part of it, matches up.   Holes I'd pick: I'd have to watch again but I THINK he says 'end of year' for Tottenham - not possible, for a number of reasons, though he's probably just got his words mixed up there. It's Summer '27, or that's what I've been told. He also says Glastonbury is/would be based on how the album does. That doesn't stack up to me, unless it was a 2028 thing. I suppose that could stack up, i.e a verbal agreement for 2028, but still seems a bit of an odd approach. I would personally still expect it to be 2027 alongside the stadium gigs, IF they are gonna do it, though I've still not got a Scooby when the album is gonna drop, only that the tour is due for Spring (or early) next year.   Interesting, nonetheless.   https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaOB3Q9qkwW/
