Is there another festival with all the good acts that we don't know about yet?

Every major line up seems to have met with disappointment, and there are obvious festival bands who aren't turning up anywhere - and this in a year without Glastonbury.

Huh? There is no way on earth anyone can justify them headlining. One Ally Pally date and one date at Cardiff’s tiny arena does not make it ok

Two Ally Pally dates I think. Tbf there is a few I'd see. Papa Roach and Sum 41 the same same is a great booking. Tbf give me a good NME headliner....never happens now or Distillers in the lockup....I could listen to Dua Lipa....that's tempting. Friday is a crock of shite. Shame Hollywood Undead on the last day.

If Fall Out Boy play From Under the Cork Tree and Panic At The Disco play A Fever You Cant Sweat Out in full, will the internet stop whining?

If this happened on the same day with Sum 41, Papa Roach, Hollywood Undead and Creeper as well (all on main stage so no clashes) I would buy a day ticket. That is literally the only way I'd buy a ticket of any kind for this festival.

Apart from Fall Out Boy being a super weak headliner i don't mind the line up, the next announcement should definitely fill out with a couple heavier acts like Broco and The Wonder Years. I think this announcement was more geared towards capitalising on the lack of V fest this year.

This gives me a little bit of hope but even Dan must be shocked about how shit it is this year.

There is obviously the Pit and Lock Up to announce and in 2016 he did a separate announcement for it on a Sunday, and the lack of rock/metal announced today suggests they are doing something similar.  There is also very little on there that would be suited to the FR stage so all that is to come.  This assumes the stages remain the same of course.
