In all seriousness now, I was told back in like November that Arctics were doing their own thing - similar to when they did Finsbury last time out - this summer and not to expect them at any festivals (I'm guessing that meant England, I wasn't actually told that). 

I hadn't really put much thought into where, mainly because I wasn't particularly arsed and also because I just assumed it'd be London again. Sheffield obviously makes sense though and perhaps that's where the Tramlines rumour came from. 

I dunno if things have changed since then but when I got a list of a bunch of countries they were playing at this summer about two weeks before they announced (and when I ballsed up when the last Monday of Jan was) England wasn't on there, but Scotland was. So I reckon they're still not playing here. 

Also, I'd have thought R&L would've been announced when the rest of the festivals were dropped anyway.

Regardless of whether AM do R&L this year or not, they’ll do some kind of shows in England. Won’t be special enough to headline Glasto’s 50th IMO.

Nope. Glasto has never had a headliner from R&L from the year before. The same can't be said the other way round for the past maybe 10 years

Glasto will have the same budget and same availability of acts as usual on their 50th year. They're not going to turn Arctic Monkeys down because they're not special enough. They'll book them any year they can.
