One more question - did you get the return bus last time? What's it like? Bit worried that I will arrive in good time for the 4:30am return and be standing around for hours...

If that's the case I might come up with a contingency plan!

Didn't get the bus back last time as parents were in a Caravan so hitched a lift back with them so can't help you there I'm afraid.

I'm just gonna pull an all and dump my stuff in someone elses tent.

Anyone got any ideas on what the journey time is normally like to & from London?  Just trying to gauge arrival time and how drunk I'm likely to be when I try to put my tent up.

Depends on weather and what time you leave.

Last year we were on the 08:00 coach from London, didn't get on site until 15:30ish. But that was due to horrendous weather.

Usually takes about 3 hours of driving on a good day with a quick pit stop at Fleet Services en route. (Now burned down so don't know where)

I'm on a 6.15am Wednesday morning from Taunton and almost certainly not on a 6am Monday morning back.

Usually at least a couple of departure times on each day though from Taunton in previous years.

will race you .. thats our usual leaving time from Taunton :)

I'm not sure. I think there might have been one more, a little later

Not sure about last year, but in 2015 we got the coach from Taunton, and were given 3.15 on Wednesday afternoon.

0600 from Manchester on the Wednesday and 0530 on the way back! We've got lucky and got both our groups on the same coach which is a bonus! 0530 is in that shit couple of hours where its not worth going bed / hard staying awake! 4 or 7 would have been perfect, will take it though as 0600 is the earliest coach on the way there!

I'm on the 6am on Wednesday from Liverpool which is marvellous! 07:30am on the way back though is a bit terrible though, am I right in thinking the way back coach times don't matter as much? Bit of a free for al?

Well... Yes.  I have in the past got an earlier coach.  I asked if it was ok when I was on-site, and they said it was fine, provided there was space.  And on every coach I've ever been on - there was space.

This mean, theoretically, that if you have a dog early coach coming back, you could sack it off and get onto a later one without much difficulty.  But, it's a bit like bringing a trolley along to a coach.  If everyone had the same bright idea, then you wouldn't be able to get on the coach at all.  You need big balls to try it and it would probably work...

I've got a 6:30 coach.  I don't want to be going to bed early on the Sunday.  I also don't fancy staying up all night.  I really don't fancy being stuck in Somerset..  Urgh.

Are you sure you don't want to swap and sit behind the driver?

Hahaha, maybe the driver's going to be really good company, could be the best seats on the coach, y'never know.

I sat behind the driver last year and he made the whole 8-9 hour journey a bliss. He was a legend.

I'm on the 5am from London. 4am back (that's going to be painful).

Just book another coach for the way back with national express? That's what I'm doing.
