The old band plus guest singers thing would be pretty swell for one of the big stages. Maybe not in the Saturday sub slot but I'd hope they at least pursued that idea.

Who do you think it would be? Lorde is certainly an option, Michael C Hall as well.

I bet they could get a variety between the performers and punters. Paul Heaton, Richard Ashcroft, Rita Ora... possibilities are endless.

Bowie and the lads (excluding Bowie) have been mentioned as playing, so they should still crop up somewhere.

Like properly self confirmed? Had no idea. That's awesome.

Confirmed by Emily, although reading it back again it's not as locked down as I'd remembered.

I see. I don't think it will be but that'd have been a great use of an evening Pyramid slot, wouldn't it? Generous crowd, Bowie classics, little bit of a game of not knowing who'll come on and sing next, Heroes cover backdrop. It'd still be good at some other point in the day but when everyone's up and there'd be a bumper crowd it would be on point.

Glenn Gregory (ex Heaven 17) was stunning in the show singing the Man Who Sold The World album (and many many other Bowie tracks) with Woody Woodmansey & Tony Visconti on the Holy Holy tour last year. Marc Almond did his songs justice too, and Gary Kemp sang and played sax suitably. This note-perfect band would be incredible for the Glasto Bowie trib, with a few guest vocalists here and there, but Mr Gregory is a very fine Bowie tribute vocalist indeed and could carry the show on his own no problem.

the idea of Bowie's relatively faceless band and a load of b-list celebs, or worse going by the some of the names over the last 2 pages, coming onstage and doing various songs sounds utterly fucking dreadful to me.

Aye, agree 100%, and I've said before it's not a Glastonbury way of doing things. Karaoke at the end of the pier. Not happening.

I was joking about the names I said but each to their own on the whole thing. Bringing something unique to the lineup through collaboration seems a good idea to me. More interesting than just another name doing a dozen other feats in June anyway. And don't lose faith - maybe they could get one or two A-list slebs in. :P

I'm not sure which line-up you're referring to, but his original Spiders from Mars, such as Woody and Tony Visconti, is a million miles away from a faceless Bowie band in the history of his music

I would say definitely stage splits from which days can be worked out for top two or three acts per stage. Times are possible but sometimes not till a week or two before.

That'll do, really, in terms of figuring out the major clashes.

That's not the band that are under discussion, though.

This was his most recent touring band - Gail Ann Dorsey and the lads.

So lineup is coming out on tuesday at 10:30am i right? This is definitely true and happening?

Well nothing's 100% certain of course, but that's what everyone's believing, seemingly on the basis of some decent info.

If it doesn't appear then, we'll all go ape on here for a day and it'll then appear at 9AM on Wednesday anyway
