I don't think Glasto tends to book an act unless they've a new album out ( like James).

nope, people say this but time and time again there's acts playing with no new album out.

it generally tends to be the case, as with most festivals, as acts go on tour when they've an album to promote.

Bastille and Two Door Cinema Club are two bands announced for this years festival that don't have a new album out (we only know there is a new album on the shelf, but no release date) and I assume there are many more cases like this on this year's line up

He did say they 'tend' to book acts with new albums. Then in the next sentence, you also said 'it generally tends to be the case'. Yet you also disagreed with him? :P

When are The Kills and Editors being announced then?

Means we're agonisingly  close to the festival now though with the smaller areas announcing, Ahhhhh!

The Kills are a shoo in surely. Ordered my deluxe gatefold Ash & Ice the other day!

Hopefully, I think they're quite hard to place in the lineup though, High JP or Mid Other. The two tracks released so far are very promising! Really looking forward to it.

    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
    • Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
