Funnily enough, I was having this conversation at work today! Coincidence.

Cider for daytime - Stongbow dark fruit is actually okay warm, much nicer than the normal apple stuff. Plus cheap. And not somersby, which is hideously sweet for an apple cider.

The Jagernukes - aka 1 litre of jagermeister, 3 litres of cheap sugar free energy drink - pour out the top of the energy drinks and distribute jäger. That's Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening sorted.

Red stag - and then buy lemonade/Sprite there. Lovely. Or find a cheap deal on bulleit rye and really push the boat out.

Undecided on shots this year. Did Apfelkorn last year which was lovely (and great for making friends in crowds!) but I have some quince Soplica that I bought back from Poland which is amazing, if I can make it last. Or I'll have to go back to Poland and buy some more for like £3/4 a bottle! Decisions.

regards tonic. i would get fever tree if they did it in cans but they don't to my knowledge.

good thing about G&T is you need less tonic than you do coke for a rum & coke, so you don't have to bring as much

small cans of it are pretty easy to come by in most supermarkets. G&T i find a good refresher once you've had enough cider or ale!

Sainsbury do packs of 8 fever tree cans ( the little ones)

This thread is not really for me as I'm doing "dry 16" having stopped drinking in Oct 15.  I wouldn't say that I had a drinking problem, more like a stopping problem.  Whats great about this years festival is that I will it through very new eyes again.  And its enabled me to be available for the more driving errands.

Will probably go for 2-3 litres of Spiced Rum, 1 litre of Southern Comfort and 2-3 litres of cheap Tesco Amaretto. Will buy mixers whilst I'm there, had great success in getting ice cold ones most of last year. Don't mind having to pay £2 for a 500ml Coke, when it means having a nice cold drink rather than a warm tin of lager. Also once I've broken the seal it's a nightmare for the next 2-3 hours so drinking strongly mixed spirits slowly over the course of the day is just a lot better. Use the Amaretto to drink straight to 'top up' when needed, and for passing round as a weak shot. To be honest usually by 6-7pm I'm flying on the non-booze treats so my intake drops massively.

Making a rum punch this year - white rum, dark rum and Malibu mixed with lime grenadine pineapple and orange juice. Also a 2l bottle of Morgan spice and Coke. And perhaps a 2l bottle of Malibu and pineapple. 8 cans of hobgoblin. Hopefully sorted.

going on train so will probably take a few bottles of ale for the journey. B and m have a great selection

I really love Kopparberg but don't like the price or alcohol content. Now i just buy cans of Scrumpy Jack and take a small bottle of Morrisons Apple & Strawberry Squash mixed with a little Lime Cordial.

* Love red wine, but boxed stuff isn't to my taste. Bought some in a plastic bottle from Sainsbury's once...god awful stuff. I'll see what France has to offer in the plastic department...probably sacrilege/ banned there.

You'll find some great red wine in plastic bottles in France. Stuff I've had before has been much better than what you can find in supermarkets here. I would give you some names as recommendations but I don't remember any...

I'm thinking of making some sort of Spirit infusion you guys keep talking about, I just need to decide what to put with it

i think i'm probably going to go for Vodka just because it seem to have a lot more options

In preparation I am hoarding plastic tonic bottles. I then premix G&T and Mojito before decanting into said plaggy bottles and freezing, if you make a fairly strong mix it won't freeze but goes slushy. I take a few ales (Fursty Ferret in cans is good - but mostly prefer to buy cool ones from bars on site) and also some of those little cartons of fruit juice. Everything goes in the freezer and then into a cool bag for the journey to the farm, I've found it is still drinkably cool on Saturday.

I'm too lazy to carry much in so I take a couple of bottles of Jim Bean then buy bottles of coke and various pints of whatever tickles my fancy as I go.

Always in awe of people pushing in sack-trucks full of tinnies (especially in the mud), sure you save money but don't you end up spending half the weekend returning to your tent to resupply?

Actually can remember going camping in France when I was 17/18 and filling up empty water bottles with wine from roadside vendors.

I presented this to my Parents on my return as they had given me £100 to buy them booze (which I had already spent). They weren't best pleased.

Are there any regular good rum and/or tequila bars on site? I normally drink my own booze, so haven't made the most of the bars on offer... but I'd love a few rum or tequila cocktails. I expect Glasto Latino is a safe bet!

our group had a laugh last year as we have a couple of rum enthusiasts who decided to go to the rum shack.....

they have ONE rum. one. the same one that is on all the other bars i expect. False advertising!

the only place with premium spirits i can think of off the top of my head is the beat hotel
