Emily mentioned "visuals" whist talking about the Bowie tribute during the interview on 6music.........holograms or similar on the Pyramid?

I know this type of thing has been used elsewhere but has it ever been done at Glastonbury?

Other people doing Bowie never really works. Organised sing-a-longs are shit, holograms are shit, Lady Gaga was shit, her impression of him was shit, the funk trumpets they used were shit and her clothes and makeup were shit.

They should just show his 2000 gig on the big screens on the Pyramid on Thursday. That would be far from shit.

A hologram of him on stage doing his 2000 gig with a live band would be pretty epic.

I highly doubt it will be that but it's an interesting concept none the less.

I'd be happy for the gig just to be played on the big screens as Nal suggested however I assume licencing constraints may play a part in this not being able to happen on the weds or thurs.

unfortunately that would probably be against the noise conditions of the licence.

maybe they'll do it on Fri/Sat/Sun early.

or in between acts on the screens.

A nice big Ziggy flash above the Pyramid would be good. They could just blast out Wendy Carlos' rendition of Beethoven's ninth on the Pyramid at the start of each day then play Rock N Roll Suicide after the last act with pics on the screens for an understated tribute.

I'm finding this as exciting as any of the other rumours despite not being able to listen or look at anything Bowie since that Monday morning. Must try extra hard to get that resale ticket now.

On one of the screens after the stages have shut down? Only Pyramid, Other and JP have screens right?

How will that work with the curfew? I get that it doesn't have to be at gig level sound but it'd still need to be loud enough for a field of people to hear. Plus, you'd have a field of people singing along. Surely it'd make enough sound in the middle of the night to piss off the locals?

I will go for wed or thurs , it doesnt appear that there have been licencing issues when showing the world cup and euros on the pyramid big screens previously on those days , unless the licence has changed that would be the logical answer and might help ease congestion in other packed areas of the site
