I saw Muse play BH&R in full when they first toured the album, granted I was a bigger fan than I am now, but I was still disappointed. Absolution in full would've been brilliant.

Agreed. Saw the same gig (Wembley arena night 2 I think it was) - they played the whole lot in a row then. Don't think BH&R is that a big deal - would rather an Absolution tour as you say!

Was Nottingham for me. They seemed to change the set list at the last moment.

So here's a thought.

If Muse weren't a headliner but were somewhere else on the bill, where would they play?

Acoustic Stage. They'd blow our tiny minds

Edit - seriously though?

Sunday afternoon, Matt Bellamy solo set. Here's the setlist.

  1. Starlight
  2. Undisclosed Desires
  3. Guiding Light
  4. Endlessly
  5. Unintended
  6. Aftermath
  7. Creep (Radiohead cover)
  8. I Belong to You
  9. Drones (ft. choir of Matts)
  10. The Globalist (acoustic)

The festival say they have booked Radiohead, but it turns about to be Muse in wigs with the Cheeky Girls. People see this straight away and are stunned by the festival's lack of honesty, but learn to forgive once they see Matt flying around in his own UFO while performing Revolt as a one man band. Dom Howard then whips out a stick, which turns out to be the same Neuralyzer used in Men in Black and everyone comes away thinking they've seen the best Radiohead set ever, before coming on here and ranking it second in a list of best Radiohead performances.

Yeah, seriously.

i've had a tip saying that's what happening, tho I don't know much more than that.

And I don't know if it's true. It's from a new source, so i've no way of knowing how good it might be.

In theory, because of where the source is, it's more likely to be good than not ... but even the best placed people get to hear baseless gossip now and then and might repeat it, so without a history I can't really rate it.

So basically you've had a tip of a Muse secret set

And i'm gonna guess, the reason why Muse were rumoured to be one of the headliners is because there was info out there that they were playing - and thats what you recieved

(now comes the speculation)

Muse were the backup for a headliner they were after (Adele) and if Adele agrees they play a secret set - but if she disagrees they headline.

So in theory Muse were in the running for the saturday slot. Coldplay as rumoured are doing the sunday slot

which leaves the friday free

FOR RADIOHEAD

(takes off glasses)

Further hope for Radiohead , would be crazy having muse not headlining. Maybe they have just asked to play?

Nope, it didn't sound like it.

I was asking where they might be announced on the bill apart from headliner.

nope, not that either. I'd previously had what I believe to be good info with them very definitely in the headliner slot.

Which is why i don't much believe this new idea, amongst others.

But nit's an idea, so i thought I'd try it out.

Do you reckon that Muse could be considered for legends slot, I know it sounds strange, but they have been since the mid 90's and have various hits and number 1 albums... I don't think it would be conceivable but it would fit in with the real coup, not rumoured for the slot thing

    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
    • 6music just shared a video of all of Fontaines DC singing along to the Cure last night. It'll be them. Booooo    Olivia might get up for I Love You though...
